Independente Futebol São Joseense, known as Independente or São Joseense, is a Brazilian football club based in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. Founded in 2015, the club plays in the Campeonato Paranaense. History Founded on 22 May 2015, São Joseense played their first competition in the 2016 Campeonato Paranaense Série Bronze, the third division of the state league. In 2017, the club won the third division, and played four seasons in the Campeonato Paranaense Série Prata before achieving promotion in 2021 as champions. In March 2022, the club ensured their qualification in the 2023 Série D, after finishing in the top eight of the year's Campeonato Paranaense. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D), commonly known as the Série D or the Brazilian Série D to distinguish it from the Italian Serie D, is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on 9 April 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it was reduced to 64 clubs. 2022 Campeonato Paranaense
The 2022 Campeonato Paranaense (officially the Campeonato Paranaense 1XBET 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the 108th edition of the top division of football in the state of Paraná organized by FPF. The competition started on 22 January and ended on 3 April. Londrina were the defending champions but were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Rio Branco could not inscribed all their players before their first match against FC Cascavel. Therefore the match, scheduled for 22 January (First stage, 1st round), was not played and FC Cascavel was awarded a 3–0 win by forfeit. 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition began on 6 May and ended on 16 September 2023. Sixty-four teams competed in the tournament. Sixty teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( Atlético Cearense, Brasil de Pelotas, Campinense and Ferroviário). The four semi-finalists, Athletic, Caxias, Ferroviária and Ferroviário, were promoted to the 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. In the finals, Ferroviário won their second title after defeating Ferroviária 2–1 on aggregate. Ferroviário finished the tournament without a single defeat.
