The Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA), originally the Independent Music Publishers and Labels Association, is a non-profit trade association established in 2000 to help European independent record labels represent their agenda and promote independent music. Its offices are in Brussels, Belgium. IMPALA is a member of the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN), a coalition of independent music bodies from countries throughout the world. Cosmos Music, formerly Bonnier Amigo Music Group (BAMG), is an independent record company based in Stockholm, Sweden. It was formed in 2001, when record company and distributor Amigo Musik merged with the record company Bonnier Music. BAMG claimed to be the biggest independent record company in Scandinavia at the time. BAMG signed acts including Helena Paparizou, Sunrise Avenue, Madcon, Amy Diamond and Sofia Karlsson. Horst Weidenmüller
Horst Weidenmüller (1964 – 10 February 2025) was a German music executive producer, entrepreneur, and the founder of !K7 Music. He joined the music industry in the early 1980s as a producer of concert video footage of musicians in the punk music genre. He founded !K7 in 1985 and became an influential part of the Berlin techno music industry in the early 1990s. Weidenmüller curated and produced a popular techno music audiovisual series, , which aired on MTV in the mid-1990s. He also served on the board of several trade associations, including the IMPALA where he was co-president until 2011.
