Imad Baba
Imad Baba (born March 15, 1974) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. He spent seven years in Major League Soccer (MLS) with the New England Revolution and Colorado Rapids. He was also a member of the American squads at the 1989 U-16 World Championships, 1993 U-20 World Cup and the 1996 Summer Olympics. Baba earned one cap with the senior United States national team. Club career Early career Baba's father moved to Texas from Palestine. Baba was born and raised in Texas. In 1990, he was given a trial at Manchester United, but failed to impress. He was the 1992 Texas High School Player of the Year and a four-time Parade Magazine high school All-American, the only player to earn that honor four times. After high school, he attended the Clemson University where he played on the men's soccer team for three seasons from 1993 to 1995. The 1996 Major League Soccer College Draft was held on March 4, 1996, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. History As Major League Soccer prepared for its first season, the league began stocking teams with players. As the teams were being created at the same time, the league adopted a measured approach to building rosters. First, the league allocated four "big name" players to each team. 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship
The 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship, known as the 1993 FIFA/Coca-Cola World Youth Championship for sponsorship purposes, was the 9th edition FIFA World Youth Championship. 1989 FIFA U-16 World Championship
The 1989 FIFA U-16 World Championship, the third edition of the tournament, was held in the Scottish cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Aberdeen, and Dundee between 10 and 24 June 1989. Players born after 1 August 1972 could participate in this tournament. Saudi Arabia won the tournament and became the first Asian team to win a FIFA tournament. Alan Woods (soccer)
Alan Woods (born October 12, 1978) is a retired American soccer defender who played a season in Major League Soccer and six in the USL First Division. He is currently the coach of the Oglethorpe University women's team. Player Youth Woods attended Paint Branch High School where he was a 1995 All Met Honorable Mention soccer player. In 1996, he began his collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame where he was named to the Big East All-Rookie team and second team All Great Lakes Region. He transferred to Clemson in 1998 where he was first team All ACC and first team All South. Matt Okoh
Matthew Nwabueze Okoh (born May 19, 1972) is a former U.S.-Nigerian soccer player and currently assistant coach of the DSU Hornets Women. His playing career spanned eight years and took him from the United States to Brazil, Germany and Portugal. Since retiring from playing, Okoh has devoted himself to coaching collegiate soccer. The 1997 New England Revolution season was the second season for the New England Revolution both as a club and in Major League Soccer (MLS). Along with the MLS regular season, the team made their debut in both the U.S. Open Cup and the MLS Cup Playoffs, although they failed to advance in either.
