Idrætscenter Vest
Idrætscenter Vest is an indoor sports arena in Holstebro, Denmark primarily used for handball, but also for gymnastics, karate, soccer and archery. The arena can hold 2,300 spectators (app. 1000 seated) and was the former home to Danish Handball League side Team Tvis Holstebro, before they moved to Gråkjær Arena. It was originally planned that the women's team Holstebro Håndbold should play their home matches at Idrætscenter Vest, when the team was formed in 2020. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. Danish Handball League
The Herreligaen (men's league), formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen (men's handball league), is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Herreligaen are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are Aalborg Håndbold. Season The Herreligaen season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. TTH Holstebro is a men's handball club from Holstebro, Denmark. The team is playing in the Danish Primo Tours Ligaen and play their home matches in Gråkjær Arena. History The club was founded on 1 May 2000, when Holstebro Håndbold 90 and Tvis KFUM merged their first teams to create the new club. In 2002 disagreements between HH90 and Tvis KFUM nearly let to the dissolvement of the club. A general assemply was called to dissilve the club, but an agreement between the two founding clubs was found last minute, which separated the elite team as its own legal entity. In 2008 the club won their first ever trophy, when they won the Danish Men's Handball Cup. In 2016 the club changed the name from 'Team Tvis Holstebro' to 'TTH Holstebro'. The reason for the change was that the sponsors was primarily based in Holstebro and wanted that town to have more focus compared to the relatively smaller Tvis. Holstebro Håndbold
Holstebro Håndbold is a women's team handball, handball club in the Danish 1st Division (Handball), Danish 1st Division from Holstebro, Denmark. Their home matches are played in Gråkjær Arena. History Previously, the women's team was part of TTH Holstebro. TTH decided to split up the men's and women's section in each club, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. HH90 took over the women's section and the men's stayed in TTH Holstebro. The team overtook TTH's license and thus started in the Damehåndboldligaen, top flight. The new club name Holstebro Håndbold, was announced on 14 April 2020. It was originally planned that the team should play their home matches at Idrætscenter Vest, but last minute the team decided to use Gråkjær Arena instead, as it had better facilities for spectators and sponsors.
