Ibrahima Cissé
Ibrahima Cissé (born 28 February 1994) is a professional footballer who plays for Russian club Ural Yekaterinburg. Born in Belgium, Cissé represents the Guinea national football team internationally. Career Fulham Fulham tried to sign Cissé from Belgium side Standard Liège in January 2017, but it took until 7 July 2017 that Fulham finally signed him for an undisclosed fee. Cissé was released by mutual consent from Fulham on 1 February 2020. Ural Yekaterinburg On 8 September 2022, Cissé signed with Ural Yekaterinburg in Russia. International career Cissé was born in Belgium and is Guinean by descent. He was formerly a youth international for Belgium. However, he pledged his international allegiance to Guinea in March 2018. FC Ural Yekaterinburg (russian: ФК Урал) is a Russian association football club based in Yekaterinburg. They play in the Russian Premier League. History The club was founded in 1930 and was known as Avangard (1930–1948, 1953–1957), Zenit (1944–1946), Mashinostroitel (1958–1959), and Uralmash (1949–1952, 1960–2002). The club is currently named after the Russian region of Ural, where Yekaterinburg is the capital. The club participated in the Soviet championships beginning in 1945. The Belgian Pro League,(officially the Jupiler Pro League due to sponsorship reasons with Jupiler), is the top league competition for association football clubs in Belgium. Contested by 18 clubs since the 2020–21 season and reduced to 16 teams from the 2023–24 season onwards, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Challenger Pro League. The 2021–22 Belgian First Division A (officially known as Jupiler Pro League due to sponsorship reasons) was the 119th season of top-tier football in Belgium. Team changes On the final matchday of the previous season, Royal Excel Mouscron was overtaken by Waasland-Beveren, pushing them into a direct relegation spot and thus causing the Mouscron team to return to the second level after six seasons. Waasland-Beveren would eventually face the same fate as a few weeks later they lost the Relegation play-off against Seraing, ending a span of nearly a decade at the top level.
