I Viceré (film)
''I Viceré'' is a 2007 Italian historical drama film directed by Roberto Faenza. It is based on the novel with the same name written by Federico De Roberto. For his performance Lando Buzzanca won the Globo d'oro for best actor. The film also won four David di Donatello awards and two Silver Ribbons. Plot Uzeda, a Sicilian family faithful to the Bourbon kings, with the Unification of Italy in 1861 and the rise to power of Giuseppe Garibaldi and Vittorio Emanuele II, begins to lose his power, although Sicily remains in the hands of Prince Giacomo (Giacomo Uzeda). Roberto Faenza
Roberto Faenza (born 21 February 1943 in Turin) is an Italian film director. He received a degree in Political Science and a diploma at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. Career Faenza made his directing debut in 1968 with the international success, '' Escalation'', a film that describes the different sides of power through the relationship between a middle-class father and his hippie son. Immediately after that he directed ''H2S'', an angry apology of the 1968 movement, seized two days after its release and not distributed since. Upon this sequestration he travelled to the United States to teach at the Federal City College of Washington DC. In 1978 he directed '' Forza Italia!'', a ferocious satire on the power of the Italian Christian Democrat party covering thirty years of Italian political history. Antonio Cantafora
Antonio Cantafora (2 February 1944 – 20 April 2024), also known professionally as Michael Coby, was an Italian film and television actor. Life and career Born in Crotone, Cantafora studied acting with Alessandro Fersen, then he made his film debut in 1967. Between 1973 and 1977, he made a series of films with Paul L. Smith, a couple formed with the purpose of copying the successful films of the duo Terence Hill and Bud Spencer. Smith played Bud Spencer-like characters, while Coby was thanks to a vague resemblance a Terence Hill lookalike. Later Cantafora continued his career mainly as a character actor, working with prominent directors such as Federico Fellini, Jerzy Skolimowski, Bruno Barreto, Alberto Lattuada, Mauro Bolognini. Mario Pupella (10 April 1945 – 22 January 2023) was an Italian actor and stage director. Biagio Pelligra (born 24 June 1937, in Comiso) is an Italian stage, film and television actor. Life and career Born in Comiso, Province of Ragusa, Pelligra started his acting career in the second half of the sixties, and after several minor roles he got his first role of weight in 1972, in Marco Leto's ''Black Holiday''.
