ITX-Saemaeul
The Intercity Train eXpress-Saemaeul (ITX-Saemaeul; ) is a class of train operated by Korail, the national railroad of South Korea, it was introduced on May 12, 2014, to replace the Saemaeul-ho. The new ITX-Saemaeul trains have a faster average speed of 150 kilometers per hour. The name was taken from the Saemaul Undong after a public competition to determine the new train's name. Saemaeul-ho
The Saemaeul-ho, formerly known as the Saemaul-ho and Saemaul Express, is a class of train operated by Korail, the national railroad of South Korea, since February 8, 1969. Before the introduction of the KTX express trains, the Saemaeul-ho was the fastest class of trains in South Korea, making the journey from Seoul to Busan in less than 5 hours. Saemaeul trains operated on several lines, but they now only operate on the Janghang Line. Saemaeul-ho trains are distinguished from the more basic Mugunghwa-ho trains by their larger and comfortable seats and the absence of standing passengers. Trains are also distinguished from the Mugunghwa-ho trains by their colour; typical Saemaeul train passenger cars are painted in red and black. In the past, Saemaeul passenger cars were painted in green, blue, and yellow. Korail Class 210000
The Korail Class 210000, also known as the EMU-150, is a South Korean higher-speed electrical multiple unit train manufactured by Hyundai Rotem and operated by Korail on ITX-Saemaeul services since 2014. History In 2011, Hyundai-Rotem and Korail signed an agreement for an order of 23 six-car units, with deliveries in 2014. On 15 October 2013, the first set was delivered to Korail. The EMU-150 entered service in 2014 on ITX-Saemaeul limited-express services. Export variant In 2021, an order of 10 8-car trainsets was received for an export variant for Tanzania as part of its Standard Gauge Railway, with the appearance resembling this model. The trains are gradually delivered from 2024 onwards. Seoul Station () is a major railway station in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The station is served by the Korail Intercity Lines and the commuter trains of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. The Korea Railroad Corporation () is the national railway operator in South Korea. It is branded as KORAIL () and changed its official Korean name () in November 2019. Currently, KORAIL is a public corporation, managed by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation. Pyeongtaek Station
Pyeongtaek Station is the main train station serving the city of Pyeongtaek, South Korea. It is on the Gyeongbu Line and Pyeongtaek Line and is also served by Seoul Subway Line 1. It is not a KTX station, and the KTX does NOT stop here and there is a ticket counter for KORAIL where you can buy KTX tickets leaving from KTX Stations in Asan (south) and Suwon (north). Pyeongtaek Station attaches to AK Plaza. A department store brand with additional locations in other areas of Korea. The Pyeongtaek Station / AK Plaza building also offers restaurants, grocery shopping, and a movie theater. Donghae Line
The Donghae Line () is a railway line connecting Busanjin station to Samcheok station in South Korea. The literal meaning of its name, the "East Sea Line," reflects its position along the nation's East coast. It merged with the Donghae Nambu Line on December 30, 2016, and will merge with the Donghae Bukbu Line. In January 26, 2018, the East Sea Line was partially extended to Yeongdeok Station, and on January 1, 2025, the line between Yeongdeok Station and Samcheok Station was opened. Gwangju Station
Gwangju Station is a train station located in Gwangju, South Korea, 353 km south of Yongsan station. History The station opened on July 1, 1922, and the station building was moved to its present location on July 25, 1969. On August 10, 2000, Gwangju Station was disconnected from the Gyeongjeon Line when a southern bypass between Hyocheon and Songjeong-ri (today GwangjuSongjeong Station) was opened. The section between Songjeong-ri and Gwangju remained in use as the Gwangju Line, a spur with Gwangju Station as its terminal station. Yeosu Expo station (Ko: 여수엑스포역) is a KTX station in the city of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. It is on the Jeolla Line.
