Ion Selective Electrode
An ion-selective electrode (ISE), also known as a specific ion electrode (SIE), is a simple membrane-based potentiometric device which measures the activity of ions in solution. It is a transducer (or sensor) that converts the change in the concentration of a specific ion dissolved in a Solution (chemistry), solution into an electrical potential. ISE is a type of sensor device that senses changes in signal based on the surrounding environment through time. This device will have an input signal, a property that we wish to quantify, and an output signal, a quantity we can register. In this case, ion selective electrode are electrochemical sensors that give potentiometric signals. The voltage is theoretically dependent on the logarithm of the ionic activity, according to the Nernst equation. Analysis with ISEs expands throughout a range of technological fields such as biology, chemistry, environmental science and other industrial workplaces like agriculture. Ion-selective electrodes are ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

ISE Corporation
ISE Corporation ("International Space Enterprises", later "Innovative Solutions for Energy") was a manufacturer and integrator of heavy-duty hybrid electric powertrain systems for transit bus and truck use, based in San Diego and later Poway, California. ISE was founded in 1995 and filed for bankruptcy in 2010, shortly after raising $20 million in its initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange. History ISE Corporation was founded in January 1995 by David M. Mazaika and Michael C. Simon, engineers who had formerly worked for General Dynamics. The company's initial funding came from a research grant provided by the South Coast Air Quality Management District to develop and test hybrid electric vehicles and vehicle components. ISE entered a strategic partnership with Siemens in 2002, where ISE would use the Siemens ELFA traction motor, inverter, and generator in its series hybrid drivetrain systems for the United States. ISE started as an integrator, refitting vehicl ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Initiative For Science In Europe
The Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE) is an independent platform of European learned societies and scientific organisations. It provides a common forum for the scientific communities to advocate independent scientific advice in European policy making and to stimulate the involvement of European scientists in the design and implementation of European science policy. Founded as informal organisation back in 2004, it was later registered as a not-for-profit organisation in Strasbourg since October 2017. History General dissatisfaction with science policy and funding instruments at European level and the lack of involvement of scientists in policy making has led European learned societies in the early 2000s to seek ways to advocate a stronger role for science in Europe. Initial focus was on the visionary idea of a European funding instrument to foster and fund frontier research of the highest quality in all scientific disciplines. Activities were first coordinated by the Europe ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Islamabad Stock Exchange
The Islamabad Stock Exchange ( or PSX-ISE) was a stock exchange located in Islamabad, Capital Territory, Pakistan. In 2016, it merged with the Pakistan Stock Exchange. History Islamabad Stock Exchange was incorporated as a guarantee-limited company on 25 October 1989 in Islamabad. In 1989, a Pakistani high court judge investigated the authorization of a new stock exchange in Islamabad. The judge's findings revealed that the Ehsan-ul-Haq Piracha, then Minister of State for Finance, had helped approve the deal, which exclusively favored a company with which he had previously served as a director. Additionally, a member of his family held a directorship at the same company at the time of the deal's approval. The judge presiding over the case issued a strongly worded opinion, alleging that the finance minister had engaged in improper dealings related to the authorization of the new stock exchange. It was licensed as a stock exchange on 7 January 1992. It started trading in July 1 ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
