International Refugee Assistance Project
The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) works to organize law students and lawyers to develop and enforce legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons. It was originally a project of the Urban Justice Center in New York City, founded and directed by Becca Heller. On December 23, 2018, IRAP became an independent 501(c)(3) organization. IRAP has offices in New York City, Jordan, and Lebanon. IRAP is a plaintiff A plaintiff ( Π in legal shorthand) is the party who initiates a lawsuit (also known as an ''action'') before a court. By doing so, the plaintiff seeks a legal remedy. If this search is successful, the court will issue judgment in favor of the ... in '' International Refugee Assistance Project v. International Road Assessment Programme
The International Road Assessment Programme or iRAP assesses roads all over the world and aims to significantly reduce road casualties by improving the safety of road infrastructure. History iRAP was formed in 2006 as an umbrella organisation for EuroRAP, usRAP and AusRAP and also to facilitate work in middle and low income countries. In 2006 and 2007 four pilot studies in Malaysia, Chile, Costa Rica and South Africa have been undertaken. These studies showed that road assessment is also helpful in developing countries. High-risk roads where large numbers are killed or seriously injured are inspected and affordable programmes of safety engineering are identified. As the percentage of vulnerable road users, like pedestrians and two-wheeler (other), two-wheelers among the road deaths is high in those countries, iRAP focuses on measures to improve road design especially for these users. The pilot studies have been supported by national motoring organisations, authorities an ...

Institut De Recherche En Astrophysique Et Planétologie
The Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planétologie (IRAP), formerly the Centre d'Etude Spatiale des Rayonnements (CESR), is a French laboratory of space astrophysics. It is located in Toulouse. The center's main areas of investigation are: space plasmas, planetology, the high energy universe, and the cold universe. The center is jointly operated by CNRS and Toulouse's Paul Sabatier University, and was opened on 1 January 2011. Projects The ChemCam instrument on the ''Curiosity rover'' (Mars Science Laboratory) was developed by CESR in conjunction with the Los Alamos National Laboratory. It landed on the planet Mars in August 2012. The SuperCam instrument on the ''Perseverance rover'' (Mars 2020) was developed by IRAP in conjunction with the Los Alamos National Laboratory Los Alamos National Laboratory (often shortened as Los Alamos and LANL) is one of the sixteen research and development Laboratory, laboratories of the United States Department of Energy National La ...

Implicit Relational Assessment Procedure
The Implicit Relational Assessment Procedure (IRAP) is a computer-based psychological measure. It was heavily influenced by the implicit-association test, and is one of several tasks referred to as indirect measures of implicit attitudes. The IRAP is one of relatively few indirect measures that can includes relational or propositional rather than associative information. The IRAP was conceptualised by Dermot Barnes-Holmes, and originally published in 2006. A meta analysis of clinically-relevant criterion effects suggest that the IRAP has good validity. However, a second meta analysis suggests that it has poor reliability, like many reaction time based measures. Research using the IRAP is often linked to relational frame theory, a functional-analytic theory of language. Application and use Procedure A computer-based measure, the IRAP requires individuals to accurately and quickly respond to the relation between two stimuli presented on screen (e.g., to "dog" and "woof") using ...

Interleukin 1 Receptor Antagonist
The interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''IL1RN'' gene. IL-1RA was initially called the IL-1 inhibitor and was discovered separately in 1984 by two independent laboratories. IL-1RA is an agent that binds non-productively to the cell surface interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R), the same receptor that binds interleukin 1 family (IL-1), preventing IL-1's from sending a signal to that cell. Function IL-1RA is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. IL-1RA is secreted by various types of cells including immune cells, epithelial cells, and adipocytes, and is a natural inhibitor of the pro-inflammatory effect of IL1β. This protein inhibits the activities of interleukin 1, alpha (IL1A) and interleukin 1, beta (IL1B), and modulates a variety of interleukin 1 related immune and inflammatory responses. This gene and five other closely related cytokine genes form a gene cluster spanning approximately 400 kb on chromosome 2. Four alt ...

IRAP PhD Program
International relativistic astrophysics PhD program, or IRAP PhD program is the international joint doctorate program in relativistic astrophysics initiated and co-sponsored by ICRANet. During 2010-2017 IRAP PhD takes part in the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Commission. For the first time in Europe the IRAP PhD program grants a joint PhD degree among the participating institutions. Education in relativistic astrophysics In 2005 a new international organization was founded: the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network ( ICRANet), dedicated to the theoretical aspects of relativistic astrophysics. Together with the University of Arizona, the University of Stanford and the International Centre for Relativistic Astrophysics (ICRA), such states as Armenia, Brazil, Italy and the Vatican are the founding members of ICRANet. As a first step, the international relativistic astrophysics Ph.D. program (IRAP Ph.D.) was established in 2005. Among the proponents of ...

IRAP RMS Suite
Roxar RMS is a reservoir characterization and modeling software suite. It is primarily designed for use in the oil and gas industry, helping engineers gather data from a wide variety of sources to efficiently build reliable reservoirs. History *1987 - Geomatic begins distribution of the first version of the IRAP software. *1994 - IRAP becomes IRAP RMS, the industry’s first 3D modelling package. *1995 - Smedvig Technologies, later known as Roxar AS, acquires Geomatic AS and ODIN Reservoir Software. Smedvig’s analysis and processing software, ResView, ODIN's tool for stochastic reservoir modelling, STORM, and Geomatic's IRAP reservoir modelling software merge into IRAP RMS, later renamed to Roxar RMS. *2009 - Roxar is acquired by Emerson, St.Louis USA and becomes part of a USD 28 billion company. Versions RMS 6 In RMS 6.0, STORM’s stochastic modelling was merged with structure and fault modelling capabilities. Also introduced was the 'Workflow Manager' tool, which allows u ...
