IMCA Modifieds
IMCA Modified is the top Modified car racing, modified division sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association.IMCA History The series began in 1979. It was designed to be a mid-level class between late models and hobby stocks. The first IMCA modified race was held at the Benton County, Iowa Speedway in 1979 on a 1/4 mile track. The car bodies are hybrids of Open-wheel racing, open wheel cars and stock cars. The front tires have no body around them like an open wheel car, and the back wheels have a body around them like a stock car. International Motor Contest Association
The International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) was organized in 1915 by J. Alex Sloan, and is the oldest active auto racing sanctioning body in the United States. IMCA is headquartered in Vinton, Iowa, and features several classes and divisions of weekly racing in six geographical regions of the United States. Late Models
Late Model stock car racing, also known as late model racing and late models, refers to a type of auto racing that involves purpose-built cars simultaneously racing against each other primarily on oval tracks. This type of racing was early-on characterized by its participants' modification to the engines of post-World War II passenger cars, but the modern day understanding references a class that allows considerable modifications to both the engine and body, yet requires some form of front fender package. Overview As the post WWII auto industry began meeting demand for new cars, auto lots were filling up with the pre-war coupes and sedans. These 1939-1941 cars, "modified" with souped up engines, were finding their way to competitions at racing ovals converted from horse racing or newly carved out in fields. Kyle C. Strickler (born August 3, 1983), nicknamed The High Side Tickler, is an American professional racing driver who competes in dirt late models and modified cars. He previously competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado for Young's Motorsports. Benji LaCrosse
Benji LaCrosse (born May 10, 1977 in Luxemburg, Wisconsin) is an American racecar driver. He was the 2006 IMCA Modified national champion, and the winner of the 2005 IMCA SuperNationals. Racing career IMCA stock car After purchasing his first car for $2500 in 1999, LaCrosse began racing in the International Motor Contest Association, IMCA stock car division in his first full season in 2000. He was the track champion at the Door County Speedway in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. LaCrosse was the Wisconsin state champion in his second season in 2001. He won the points championship at his hometown track (Luxemburg Speedway). He finished second at Door County (then called Thunderhill Speedway) and the Seymour Tri-Oval.
