IFK Göteborg–Malmö FF Rivalry
Although not technically a derby, the fixture between IFK Göteborg and Malmö FF is one of the fiercest sporting rivalries in Swedish football, sometimes referred to as the "Mesta mästarmötet" (). The two clubs are the most successful in Swedish football; Malmö FF have won 24 Swedish championship titles, an all time Swedish record, while IFK Göteborg have won 18 titles. The two clubs top the All-time Allsvenskan table with Malmö FF being 174 points ahead of IFK Göteborg after the conclusion of the 2023 season. Together they have won 42 Swedish championships, 40 Allsvenskan titles and 24 Svenska Cupen titles. Only AIK have played more seasons in Allsvenskan than the two clubs. 2022 Allsvenskan
The 2022 Allsvenskan was the 98th season since its establishment in 1924 of Sweden's top-level football league, Allsvenskan. A total of 16 teams participated. Malmö FF were the defending champions after winning the title in the previous season. The 2022 Allsvenskan season began on 2 April and ended on 6 November 2022 (not including play-off matches). 1981–82 UEFA Cup
The 1981–82 UEFA Cup was the 11th edition of the UEFA Cup, the third-tier club football competition organised by UEFA. The final was played over two legs at Ullevi, Gothenburg, Sweden, and at the Volksparkstadion, Hamburg, Germany. The final was won by IFK Göteborg of Sweden, who defeated Hamburger SV of Germany by an aggregate result of 4–0 to claim their first UEFA Cup title. This was the first of two UEFA Cup conquests for Göteborg, which were the only major European titles achieved by Swedish teams. It was also the first Swedish team to play and win in a UEFA Cup final, while Hamburg went on to win the European Cup a year later. FC Wettingen
FC Wettingen was a Swiss football club from Wettingen, Switzerland. It was founded in 1931, but due to financial problems they went bankrupt in 1993. In the same year it was refounded as ''FC Wettingen 93''. In the 2012/13 season, the name was changed back to ''FC Wettingen''. They play their home games at Stadion Altenburg. History FC Wettingen spent the first few decades of their life bobbing around the lower echelons of the Swiss leagues until finally in 1969 they made it to the National League B. The next season they gained promotion and in the 1969/70 season they played in the Swiss Super League. Mats Dan Erling Corneliusson (born 2 October 1961) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He represented IFK Göteborg, VfB Stuttgart, Como, FC Wettingen, Malmö FF, Qviding FF, and Karlstad BK during a career that spanned between 1978 and 1995. Robert Klas-Göran Prytz (born 12 January 1960) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder from the late 1970s until the early 2000s. He earned 56 caps for the Sweden national team and is best known for his time at Hellas Verona, Malmö FF and Rangers. He was the 1986 recipient of Guldbollen as Sweden's best footballer of the year. Søren Krucov Rieks (; born 7 April 1987) is a Danish former professional footballer who plays as a winger. During his career, he represented Esbjerg fB, NEC, IFK Göteborg, and Malmö FF. Thomas Lars Olof Olsson (born 15 February 1976) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. His last professional club was IFK Göteborg. After playing for the local club Åtvidabergs FF, he joined IFK Norrköping in 1998. In 2003, he joined Malmö FF with which he has won one Swedish championship. Peter Ijeh (born 28 March 1977) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Career Early career After playing for clubs like NiTel United Lagos and won the highest goal scorer award with Julius Berger FC in the Nigerian Premier League,he joined Swedish club Malmö FF in 2001. He was the top scorer in Allsvenskan in 2002 with 24 goals. Jon Inge Høiland (born 20 September 1977) is a Norwegian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He has been capped 25 times while playing for Norway. Høiland played for Bryne and Kongsvinger in Norway, before he moved to the Swedish side IFK Göteborg in 1999. He stayed in Sweden until 2007, except for a spell on loan with 1.
