IANS
Indo-Asian News Service or IANS is a private Indian news agency. It was founded in 1986 by Indian American publisher Gopal Raju as the "India Abroad News Service" and later renamed. In December 2023, Adani Group, Adani group, known for its close ties with the ruling BJP, and congress acquired majority stake in the agency making it a subsidiary to Adani's AMG Media Networks. The IANS main offices are located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The service reports news, views and analysis from the Indian subcontinent, subcontinent about the country, across a wide range of subjects, to subscribers via the Internet. While IANS is primarily known as a wire service in Indian English, English and Hindi, it also has a publishing division that currently produces newspapers and periodicals for other clients in the media industry. Gopal Raju
Gopal Raju (3 January 1928 – 10 April 2008) was an Indian-born American publisher, editor, journalist, businessman and philanthropist. He was considered to be a pioneer of Indian American ethnic media in the United States. Career Raju launched the first successful Indian newspaper in the US, India Abroad, in 1970. The India Abroad newspaper refers to itself as the "oldest Indian newspaper published in North America." The newspaper quickly became an influential voice for the growing Indian American community in the United States. Raju's India Abroad was considered to be an important milestone for the growth of ethnic media in the U.S and one of the most credible Indian American publications.
