Hillhouse Capital Group is a global private equity firm with an East Asian heritage. Hillhouse was founded by Zhang Lei (investor), Lei Zhang in 2005 with initial seed capital from the Yale University financial endowment, endowment and invests across East Asia, Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. Hillhouse has Asian offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore with additional international offices in New York City and London. Hillhouse Avenue is a street in New Haven, Connecticut, famous for its many nineteenth century mansions, including the president's house at Yale University.
