Henry Thingstad
Henry Thingstad (9 April 1916 – 19 May 1943) was a Norwegian sports official and communist resistance member. He was born in Trondhjem to a mother from Skogn and a father from Tynset. Both died before Thingstad turned twenty. He was a watchmaker by profession. Before the Second World War he was active in the workers' sports club Arbeidernes TF and the Workers' Confederation of Sports. He chaired the district workers' sports organization in Sør-Trøndelag from 1938 to 1940. He also chaired the workers' sports club SK Ørnulf. In 1939 he supported the merger between the workers' and bourgeois sports organizations, in order to create a unity front against fascism. He had been a member of the Young Communist League of Norway since 1931. Tore Pryser
Tore Pryser (born 9 January 1945) is a Norwegian historian, who has served as professor at the Lillehammer University College since 1993. Born in Oslo, he took a cand.philol. degree at the University of Oslo. He was appointed at the Lillehammer University College in 1975, became associate professor in 1978, and was promoted to professor in 1993. Pryser has specialized in several fields. In the field of Norwegian nineteenth- and twentieth-century history, his 1985 tome ''Norsk historie 1800–1870. Frå standssamfunn til klassesamfunn'' is influential. In 1999 it was republished in an abridged version, ''Norsk historie 1814–1860, Frå standssamfunn mot klassesamfunn'', as volume four of '' Samlagets norske historie'', a series on Norwegian history spanning the years 800 to 2000. Henry Rinnan
Henry Oliver Rinnan (14 May 1915 – 1 February 1947) was a notorious Norwegian Gestapo agent in the area around Trondheim, Norway during World War II. Rinnan led a group called '' Sonderabteilung Lola''. This group, known as ''Rinnanbanden'' among Norwegians, had fifty known members. Among them were Karl Dolmen, Arild Hjulstad-Østby and Ivar and Kitty Grande. Biography Born in Levanger on 14 May 1915, Rinnan was the eldest of eight children in an impoverished family. Unusually short for a Norwegian man (1.61 metres – 5 ft 3 in), he was a loner during his childhood. He worked briefly for his uncle, but was sacked for theft. An agent provocateur () is a person who commits, or who acts to entice another person to commit, an illegal or rash act or falsely implicate them in partaking in an illegal act, so as to ruin the reputation of, or entice legal action against, the target, or a group they belong to or are perceived to belong to. The occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany during the Second World War began on 9 April 1940 after Operation Weserübung. The Young Communist League of Norway ( no, Norges Kommunistiske Ungdomsforbund, NKU) was until April 2006 the youth league of Norges Kommunistiske Parti (NKP). The NKP declared on 1 April 2006 that the NKU was no longer its youth organization, and that all youths interested in joining the movement should contact the party directly. The NKU still persisted as an organization, however, and held a congress in the middle of May 2006, where it declared its wish to cooperate with the NKP, but also to continue on its own if necessary. At the same time the NKP organized a conference of their own, where they established a new youth organization for the party, with the same name and logo as the original NKU.
