Urupampa Mountain Range

Cusco Region

Quechua Language

Urubamba Province
Urubamba Province is one of thirteen provinces in the Cusco Region in the southern highlands of Peru. Geography The province is bounded to the north by the La Convención Province, to the east by the Calca Province, to the south by the Cusco Province and the Anta Province, and to the west by the La Convención Province. A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock. Although definitions vary, a mountain may differ from a plateau in having a limited summit area, and is usually higher than a hill, typically rising at least 300 metres (1,000 feet) above the surrounding land.
