Harald Moltke
Harald Viggo Moltke (14 December 1871 – 24 June 1960) was a Danish painter, author and explorer. Among his activities Moltke, participated as draftsman in four Arctic expeditions. Early life and education Harald Moltke was born in Helsingør, the son of Oskar Peter August Moltke (1828–82) and Karen Marie Jensdatter (1849-1939). He spent 10 years in North Carolina as a child between 1874 and 1884. After the death of his father, the family returned to Denmark. In 1889, he began a course of study at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, which he completed in 1893. Career From May to November 1898, he participated in a geological expedition headed by K. J. V. Steenstrup (1842-1906) to the Disko Bay region at the west coast of Greenland. From this expedition Moltke made paintings of geological structures, a.o., the coast line of Nugsuark Peninsula, and of the Inuit, a.o., "Greenland women in umiak". Cape Harald Moltke
Cape Harald Moltke ( da, Kap Harald Moltke) is a headland in Peary Land, North Greenland. Administratively it is part of the Northeast Greenland National Park. History The cape was named by Lauge Koch after Danish painter, author and explorer Harald Moltke. The Danish scientific research station ''Kap Harald Moltke'' was built in 1972 near the cape under the auspices of Eigil Knuth. There is also a small airfield near the facility. The Kap Harald Moltke Arctic station, as well as nearby Brønlundhus Station —built in 1948— have been under the administration of the Peary Land Foundation since Eigil Knuth's death. Upernavik
Upernavik (Kalaallisut: "Springtime Place") is a small town in the Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland, located on a small island of the same name. With 1,092 inhabitants as of 2020, it is the twelfth-largest town in Greenland. It contains the Upernavik Museum. History The town was founded as Upernavik in 1772. Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is formally an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the City of Copenhagen. It occupies an area of less than 9 km2 and had a population of 103,192 in 2015. Frederiksberg is an enclave surrounded by Copenhagen Municipality. Else Moltke
Else Moltke (1888–1986) was a Danish Danish nobility, countess, writer and women's rights activist. A keen contributor to newspapers and magazines from the early 1930s, she wrote mainly about historical figures, a topic which was behind ''Fra Bondehus til Herregaard'' (From Farmhouse to Manor, 1941). As a feminist, she recognized the difficulties women faced in achieving success. In 1941 she founded and ran a women's discussion club (Kvindelige Diskussionsklub) in Copenhagen which over the years achieved a membership of some 800. From the mid-1960s, Moltke published 14 books, the most successful of which was ''Fra herregård til kunstnerhus'' (From Manor to Artists' House, 1965). The Harald Moltke Glacier ( kl, Sermersuak) is a glacier in Greenland. Geography The Harald Moltke Glacier is located in the far northwest of Greenland, to the north of the Thule Air Base. It is one of four large glaciers which feeds the Wolstenholme Fjord (sometimes referred to as "the world's largest ice machine").
