Janis Hape
Janis Lynn Hape (March 10, 1958 – March 7, 2021), also known by her married name Janis Dowd, was an American competition swimmer. Hape represented the United States as an 18-year-old at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec.Sports-Reference.com, Olympic Sports, Athletes Janis Hape. Retrieved October 27, 2012. She competed in the preliminary heats of the women's 200-meter breaststroke, and recorded a best time of 2:45.57. Hape attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and swam for the North Carolina Tar Heels swimming and diving team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition from 1977 to 1980. She died from heart failure on March 7, 2021, at the age of 62. Patrick Stephen Hape is a former American football fullback and tight end for the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Houston Texans of the NFL. Patrick Hape played four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a tight end, and five seasons with the Denver Broncos, although he did not play in 2005. His career high in receptions came in 2001 when he had 15 catches for 96 yards and 3 touchdowns in his first year with the Broncos. In eight seasons, Hape grabbed 51 receptions for 287 yards and 11 touchdowns. 22% of his career receptions were touchdowns. He also scored the first regular-season touchdown at Invesco Field at Mile High. In December 2000, Hape was fined $5,000 by the NFL for excessive end zone celebration with teammates Keyshawn Johnson and Dave Moore. Shontayne Edward Hape (; born 30 January 1981) is a former professional rugby footballer, a dual-code rugby international. He played rugby union at centre for Montpellier, London Irish, Bath and England. He played rugby league for the Bradford Bulls in the Super League and the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League. Hape represented New Zealand at international level rugby league by being selected for both the junior and senior squads, including the 2006 Tri-Nations New Zealand squad. His usual position is . He was forced to retire in 2013 after suffering several serious concussions, which left him with decreased brain function.
