Hans Kraay, Jr.
Hans Kraay Jr. (born 22 December 1959) is a Dutch former professional footballer turned coach and television presenter. Biography Kraay Jr. was born in Utrecht on 22 December 1959, the son of fellow footballer Hans Kraay Sr. Career Kraay played professionally in the Netherlands for AZ, SBV Excelsior, HFC Haarlem, NAC Breda, RKC Waalwijk, Helmond Sport, FC Eindhoven, De Graafschap, FC Dordrecht, Telstar and FC Den Bosch, in the North American Soccer League for the Edmonton Drillers, Edmonton Eagles and the San Jose Earthquakes, in England for Brighton & Hove Albion, and in Belgium for Sint-Niklase. He also served as head coach of Dutch amateurs FC Lienden from 2004 to 2011, leading the club from Tweede Klasse to Topklasse and making it nationally known within Dutch football. FC Lienden
FC Lienden is a football club from Lienden, Netherlands. The club was established on 1 August 1930. History In 2010s, the club saw a rise through the Dutch football pyramid, under the guidance of former professional player Hans Kraay Jr., who served as head coach from 2004 to 2011. He returned to Lienden in 2016. On 12 November 2008 the club became famous nationwide by defeating Eredivisie squad Vitesse Arnhem by 1–0 in the third round of the national KNVB Cup. In the round of 16 they were defeated 2–0 by Roda JC after extra time. In 2010 the club was promoted to the Topklasse, the newly established semi-professional Dutch third tier. The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. SBS6 is a Dutch free-to-cable commercial TV channel and is a part of Talpa TV, formerly known as SBS Broadcasting B.V. and now owned by Talpa Network. Other channels of the group in the Netherlands are Net5, Veronica, and SBS9. History SBS stands for Scandinavian Broadcasting System. When the SBS Broadcasting Group started expanding outside of Scandinavia in 1995, one of the first countries where they set up a channel was the Netherlands with SBS6. SBS6 was the third Dutch commercial TV station after RTL 4 and RTL 5, both being launched in 1989 and 1993 respectively. SBS6 launched on 28 August 1995. When SBS6 was launched, they were in a tough competition with the channel Veronica, which started as a commercial station at the same time. The Vierde Divisie, formerly known as Hoofdklasse () is the second-highest league of amateur football in the Netherlands, and the fifth tier in general. Background The league is divided into two sections: Saturday and Sunday. This is a result of the traditional pillarisation ( nl, verzuiling), the segregation of Dutch society. The ''Saturday'' clubs are mainly Protestant Christian clubs, who were not allowed to play on Sunday. The ''Sunday'' clubs were in general Catholic and working class clubs, whose players had to work on Saturday and therefore could only play on Sunday. Although the pillarisation ended in the 1960s and 1970s, the clubs and the league have maintained this division. The Derde Divisie (; en, Third Division), formerly known as Topklasse (; en, Top Class), is the fourth tier of football in the Netherlands, which had its inaugural season as a third tier in 2010–11 and as a fourth tier in 2016–17. The league is placed between the Tweede Divisie and the Vierde Divisie (formerly Hoofdklasse), the third and fifth tiers of Dutch football, respectively.
