The Hanns Joachim Friedrichs Award is a German award for excellence in journalism. It was first awarded in 1995. The award is named for the German journalist Hanns Joachim Friedrichs Hanns Joachim "Hajo" Friedrichs (15 March 1927 – 28 March 1995) was a German journalist. Life Friedrichs was born in Hamm. Sandra Maischberger (born 25 August 1966) is a German journalist, talk show host, and author. Early life and education Born in Munich, Maischberger spent five years of her childhood in Frascati, near Rome, Italy, and also grew up in Garching, near Munich. Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR; ''Northern German Broadcasting'') is a public radio and television broadcaster, based in Hamburg. In addition to the city-state of Hamburg, NDR broadcasts for the German states of Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein. NDR is a member of the ARD organisation. ''hart aber fair'' (English: "hard but fair") is a German weekly political talk show. In the 75-minute broadcast on Monday evening on Das Erste, presenter Frank Plasberg discusses a controversial topic with his guests. Spectators receive additional information through short feature films and can participate directly. Before switching to ARD's main programme Das Erste, the programme was broadcast at WDR Fernsehen for seven years. Concept As the name suggests, the discussion should be open and controversial. Frank Plasberg
Frank Plasberg (born 18 May 1957) is a German journalist and television presenter. Biography Born in Remscheid, Plasberg has an education in theatre, politics and pedagogy and works as television presenter on German broadcaster WDR. From 1987 to 2002, he was television host of programme ''Aktuelle Stunde'' (together with journalist Christine Westermann). Annette Dittert (born 3 December 1962, in Cologne) is a German author, filmmaker, correspondent, and journalist. Life Dittert was born on 3 December 1962, in Cologne, Germany, where she grew up. Antonia Rados (born 15 June 1953 in Klagenfurt, Carinthia) is an Austrian television journalist working for RTL Television since 1993. Nowadays a political scientist with a PhD, Rados began her career in 1978 at ORF. Working as a foreign correspondent for Austrian national radio from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, she gained a reputation as a crisis reporter, most notably for her first-hand coverage of the Romanian Revolution of 1989. Günter Gaus
Günter Gaus (23 November 1929 – 14 May 2004) was a prominent German journalist-commentator who became a diplomat and (very briefly) a regional politician in Berlin. Once he had moved on – as he probably assumed, permanently – from the worlds of print journalism and television, in 1976 Günter Gaus joined the Social Democratic Party.
