Hồ Tấn Quyền
Hồ Tấn Quyền (1 November 1927 – 1 November 1963), was a senior navy officer of the Republic of Vietnam Navy with the rank of Navy Colonel. He came from the first class at the Naval Officers School, which was taken over by the Government of Vietnam and established from the French Naval facility transferred to the Vietnamese Navy located in a province in the Central Coast of Vietnam. He was the third Commander of the Republic of Vietnam Navy from August 1959 until his assassination on November 1, 1963. He with Lê Quang Tung (Commander of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam Special Forces) were loyalist commanders of Ngo Dinh Diem. Admiral Chung Tấn Cang (July 22, 1926, Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Định – January 24, 2007, Bakersfield, California) was a commander of the Republic of Vietnam Navy between 1963 and 1965. Dương Văn Minh (; 16 February 19166 August 2001), popularly known as Big Minh, was a South Vietnamese politician and a senior general in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and a politician during the presidency of Ngô Đình Diệm. 1962 South Vietnamese Independence Palace Bombing
On 27 February 1962, the Independence Palace in Saigon, South Vietnam, was bombed by two dissident Republic of Vietnam Air Force pilots, Second Lieutenant Nguyễn Văn Cử and First Lieutenant Phạm Phú Quốc. The pilots targeted the building, the official residence of the President of South Vietnam, with the aim of assassinating President Ngô Đình Diệm and his immediate family, who acted as political advisors. Phạm Phú Quốc (1935–1965) was a French-trained South Vietnamese fighter pilot and lieutenant in the Republic of Vietnam Air Force, best known for being one of two mutinous pilots involved in the 1962 South Vietnamese Presidential Palace bombing on February 27, 1962, which aimed to assassinate President Ngô Đình Diệm and his immediate family, who were his political advisers.
