Hüüru Manor
Hüüru is a village in Saue Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia. (retrieved 27 July 2021) It's located west of the border of Tallinn (and about from the city centre), on the crossing of Tallinn–Paldiski road (E265) and Vääna River, just next to Harku. Hüüru has a population of 417 (as of 1 January 2012). Hüüru was first mentioned in the Danish Census Book in 1241 as ''Hiurenkylae''. In 1560 the Hüüru Manor (''Hüer'') was established on the site of the Harku Manor's watermill. The watermill had existed already in 1540–50. The main building of the manor was built in partially in the 18th and 19th centuries. Nowadays it is used as a local library. Vääna River
Vääna () is a village in Harku Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia. It has a population of 266 (as of 1 June 2010). Vääna is located about from the capital Tallinn. Vääna Manor The oldest recorded mention of the place (''Feyena'') has been dated to 1325. At this time, there was a fortified manor or a castle at the site, the remains of which were reconstructed and expanded in a romantic fashion during the 19th century but are still visible in the manor park. The present manor house was commissioned by the Baltic German von Stackelberg family and built 1784-1797. It was designed by an anonymous Italian architect in late baroque style. Harku
Harku () is a small borough () in Harku Parish, Harju County, northern Estonia. As of the 2011 census, the settlement's population was 868, of which the Estonians were 539 (62.1%). Harku was first mentioned probably in 1242 as ''Harkua''. The only women's prison in Estonia Harku Prison is located in Harku. Politician Edgar Savisaar (1950–2022) was born in the prison. Harku manor Harku manor () was founded in 1372 by the Teutonic Order. In 1583 it became a private property and was subsequently owned by several Baltic German families from the Baltic nobility.
