Hüseyin Öztürk
Hüseyin Öztürk (born 1928) is a Turkish people, Turkish former basketball player. Öztürk was born in Çorum. He immigrated to the United States with his family and played basketball there during his student years. He was later recommended to Galatasaray S.K. (men's basketball), Galatasaray in Istanbul by his father. He won the Istanbul Men's Basketball League championships with Galatasaray. Turkish national team As a member of the senior Turkish national basketball team, Öztürk led the 1949 EuroBasket in scoring average, at 19.3 points per game. His performance earned him FIBA EuroBasket MVP, the tournament's MVP award, as Turkey finished the tournament in fourth place. Forward (basketball)
Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. 1949 EuroBasket
The 1949 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1949, was the sixth FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA. Seven national teams affiliated with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) took part in the competition. The competition was hosted by Egypt after the Soviet Union refused to host it, as was the Soviet's obligation as defending champion under FIBA Europe rules. Czechoslovakia, the silver medallist at EuroBasket 1947, had been the host that year, so was not asked to repeat hosting duties and those duties fell to bronze medallist Egypt. The event took place in Cairo, with travel difficulties cited by many nations as the reason for not competing. Only four of the seven competing teams were European. Turkish People

The Turkey men's national basketball team () represents Turkey in international basketball tournaments. They are governed by the Turkish Basketball Federation.
