Høsterkøb Church
Høsterkøb Church () is a parish church in the village of Høsterkøb, Rudersdal Municipality, some 20 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. History The church was designed by Ulrik Plesner. Construction began in 1907 and it was inaugurated on 5 June 1907. Architecture The church is built of small red bricks with white plaster ornamentation. The tower is placed on the south side of the nave. Some of the decorations were designed by Thorvald Bindesbøll. Interior and furnishings The altarpiece is from 1599 and is originally from Birkerød Church. The upper part of the font is made of granite and is originally from Lynge, Allerød Municipality, Lynge Church; the base dates from 1907. The pulpit is built of brick and is located in the southeastern corner of the church. It is decorated with plastered leaf ornamentation. Frobenius Orgelbyggeri
Frobenius is a Danish firm of organ builders. History Theodor Frobenius was born into a family of organ builders on 7 October 1885 in Weikersheim, Baden-Württemberg. From the age of 13, he trained as an organ builder at August Laukhuff in his home town. He spent four years in the workshop and then another three and a half years as a journeyman with other German organ builders. He met the Danish organ builder A.C. Zachariassen. In 1907, he moved to Aarhus where Zachariassen had just taken over an organ workshop. Frobenius's original plan was to spend only a year or two in Denmark, but ended up settling in the country on a permanent basis after meeting his future wife while working on the renovation of the organ in Viborg Cathedral. Mogens Koch
Mogens Koch (2 March 1898 – 16 September 1992) was a Danish architect and furniture designer and, from 1950 to 1968, a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Early life and education Mogens Koch was Koch in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen. He attended the architecture school at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and between 1925 and 1932 worked for Carl Petersen, Ivar Bentsen and Kaare Klint, where he was trained in the Danish functional tradition. Career and designs As a furniture designer Mogens Koch is known for the Folding Chair (1932), the Wing Chair No. 50 and the Armchair No. 51 in mahogany and leather (1936) and the Book Case (1928). Prior to teaching at the Royal Academy, Koch had the good fortune to be a student of noted architect and Professor Kaare Klint.
