Hörspielpreis Der Kriegsblinden
The Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden (War Blinded Audio Play Prize), also known as the Kriegsblindenpreis (War Blinded Prize) is the most important literary prize granted to playwrights of audio plays written in the German language. The award was established in 1950 by the Bund der Kriegsblinden Deutschlands e.V. (BKD), a German organization for soldiers and civilians blindness, blinded during war, whether from working with munitions or explosives or from a bomb attack or while in flight from an attack. Rules Der ''Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden'' is awarded every year "for an original audio play, conceived and produced by a German language broadcaster, that realizes and expands the possibilities of the art form in an outstanding manner. This original audio play must have its initial broadcast in the previous year." Broadcasters and jury members are allowed to submit entries. Wolfgang Weyrauch (15 October 1904 – 7 November 1980) was a German writer, journalist, and actor. He wrote under the pseudonym name Joseph Scherer. Life and work Wolfgang Weyrauch was born Königsberg, Prussia as the son of a surveyor. After attending gymnasium, and receiving his Abitur, he began going to acting school in Frankfurt am Main in 1924. Between 1925 and 1927, he acted in theaters in Münster, Bochum, and at the Harztheater in Thale. Egon Monk (18 May 1927 – 28 February 2007) was a German actor, director and author. Biography Monk was born in Berlin, Germany and grew up in Berlin-Wedding station, Berlin-Wedding. He served in the German Air Force in World War II (1943–1945). After the war he became an actor. Later he worked for Rundfunk im amerikanischen Sektor, RIAS Berlin (1954–1959) and for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk, NDR. He died in Hamburg, Germany. In 2019, a two-part German-Austrian-Czech fictional film was produced as a biopic and docudrama for television from 2019. Ingeborg Bachmann (; 25 June 1926 – 17 October 1973) was an Austrian poet and author. She is regarded as one of the major voices of German-language literature in the 20th century. In 1963, she was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature by German philologist Harald Patzer. Friedrich Dürrenmatt (; 5 January 1921 – 14 December 1990) was a Swiss author and dramatist. He was a proponent of epic theatre whose plays reflected the recent experiences of World War II. The politically active author's work included avant-garde dramas, philosophical crime novels, and macabre satire. Dürrenmatt was a member of the Gruppe Olten, a group of left-wing Swiss writers who convened regularly at a restaurant in the city of Olten.
