Candida Höfer
Candida Höfer (born 4 February 1944) is a German photographer. She is a renowned photographer known for her exploration of public spaces and architecture. In her career she transitioned from portraiture to focusing on spaces like libraries and museums. She is a former student of Bernd and Hilla Becher. Like other Becher students, Höfer's work is known for technical perfection and a strictly conceptual approach. Her work explores the ways in which institutional architecture shapes and directs human experience. Höfer's technical approach is reflective of her goals as an artist. From 1997 to 2000, she taught as professor at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. Höfer is the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Contribution to Photography award, as part of the Sony World Photography Awards. She is based in Cologne. Hermann Höfer
Hermann "Stift" Höfer (19 July 1934 – 22 October 1996) was a German football player who played his entire career for Eintracht Frankfurt. Höfer joined the Frankfurt side as a 15-year-old and debuted in 1953. Until 1966, the defender gathered over 300 appearances. Wearing the Eintracht jersey he won the German championship in 1959. He also played at the 1956 Summer Olympics. From 1963 until 1966 he played 68 times in the new founded Bundesliga. In the 1981–82 season, he was vice president of the ''Eagles''. Karl Höfer
Karl Höfer also Hoefer; (29 December 1862 in Pleß – 12 May 1939 in Würzburg) was a German Lieutenant general during World War I he became known as the ''Held vom Kemmelberge'' (hero of Kemmel hill) after his division had captured the Kemmelberg during the Fourth Battle of Flanders. Retired, as "Generalleutnant a. D." ('retired lieutenant general'), Höfer defended German Upper Silesia against Polish insurgents in the Silesian Uprisings in 1921. The Freikorps leaders had agreed upon Höfer as commander; he led them to success in the Battle of Annaberg. Anton Höfer
Anton Höfer (1 January 1871, Bozen - 22 July 1949, Vienna) was a General in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He was appointed Chief Quartermaster on 1 January 1916 for the Austro-Hungarian Armeeoberkommando. Then on 5 January 1917 he was appointed Präsidenten des Amtes für Volksernährung (president of the office for the People's Food). The Austro-Hungarian Empire was experiencing serious problems as regards the distribution of food. A central food bureau had already been established however despite various government regulations, public subsistence in Austria was descending into chaos. The men running it lacked the necessary skills. However under Major General Höfer the Amtes für Volksernährung was given expanded powers and started to enforce a new program which was more military in nature. Regina Höfer (''née'' Pippig; born 18 October 1947, in ) is a retired East German athlete who specialized in the 100 metres and 100 metres hurdles. Biography Höfer competed in 80 metres hurdles competition at the 1966 European Championships finishing 8th in the second semi-final. Höfer finished third behind Pat Jones in the 80 metres hurdles event at the British 1967 WAAA Championships. Werner Höfer (21 March 1913, in Kaisersesch, Rhine Province – 26 November 1997, in Cologne) was a German journalist. He started his career as a Nazi propagandist, working for the newspaper '' Das Reich''. From 1933 to 1945 he was a member of the Nazi Party.
