The Hîncești Municipal Stadium () is a football stadium in city of Hîncești, Moldova built in 1975. It is home to FC Petrocub Hîncești, Petrocub Hîncești of the Moldovan Super Liga, Moldovan Liga. In 2023 the venue hosted the 2022–23 Moldovan Cup final. Hîncești
Hîncești () is a city and municipality in Moldova. Hîncești is situated on the Cogâlnic River, southwest of the Moldovan capital, Chișinău. Since 2003 it has been the seat of Hîncești District. History Hîncești was established in 1500 AD as Dobreni. It was part of the Principality of Moldavia until its annexation by Russia in 1812. Within the Russian Empire it was known under the Russified name Gincheshty (Гинчешты), but in Romanian as Hîncești. After World War I, it became part of Romania, formed in the meantime from the unification of the principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia. During World War II, it was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1940, which changed its name to ''Kotovskoe'' after Grigore Kotovski, who was born there. But from 1941 to 1944 it was again known as Hîncești, when Romania regained control of the settlement. Before WWII, the Jewish community was rather large, in 1930, there were 1,523 Jews living there. Fotbal Club Petrocub Hîncești, commonly known as Petrocub Hîncești (), or simply Petrocub, is a Moldovan professional association football, football club from Hîncești. Moldovan Super Liga
The Moldovan Liga, officially known as Liga 7777.md for sponsorship reasons, is an association football league that is the top division of Moldovan football league system. The competition was established in 1992, when Moldova became independent from the Soviet Union. It was formed in place of former Soviet republican competitions that existed since 1945. Before the Soviet occupation of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina in 1940, clubs from modern Moldova competed in the Romanian football competitions, particularly Nistru Chișinău. There are currently eight teams in the competition. At the end of the season, the bottom club is relegated to Liga 1 and replaced by the lower league's champion. Sheriff Tiraspol – located in Transnistria – is the most successful league club with 21 titles, followed by Zimbru Chișinău with eight wins and Milsami Orhei with two wins. 2022–23 Moldovan Cup
The 2022–23 Moldovan Cup () was the 32nd season of the annual Moldovan football cup competition. The competition started on 17 August 2022 with the preliminary round and concluded with the final on 28 May 2023. Format and Schedule In the preliminary round and the first two rounds proper ties are formed on a geographical basis and there is no draw. Participating clubs The following teams qualified for the competition: Preliminary round 8 clubs from the Liga 2 entered this round. Fotbal Club Sheriff Tiraspol (), commonly known as Sheriff Tiraspol or simply Sheriff, is a professional football club based in Tiraspol, a city located in the unrecognised breakaway state of Transnistria, that plays in the Liga, the top tier of Moldovan football. Founded in 1997 as ''Tiras Tiraspol'' and rebranded the following year as ''Sheriff'', it quickly established itself within Moldovan football. Hîncești () is a district () of Moldova, with the city of Hîncești as its administrative center. As of 1 January 2011, its population was 122,000. History The district has been inhabited since the Stone Age (40,000–30,000 BC). On the territory of the present localities Rusca and Anina many cemeteries and settlements pertaining to the native Getae culture (4th–3rd centuries BC) have been discovered. Localities with the earliest historical attestation are Secăreni, Leușeni, Lăpușna, and Ciuciuleni, which were first attested in the period 1420–1430. During the 15th–18th centuries, the district was part of Lăpușna. Tirgul Lăpușnei was the administrative center, headed by a pârcălab (governor). Lăpușna existed as a fair in the 14th century.
