Hélie Denoix de Saint Marc or Hélie de Saint Marc, (11 February 1922 – 26 August 2013) was a senior member of the French Resistance and a senior active officer of the French Army, having served in the French Foreign Legion, in particular at the heart and corps of the Foreign Airborne Battalions and Regiments, the heirs of the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment 2ème REP, a part constituent of the 11th Parachute Brigade. Commandant by interim of the 1st Foreign Parachute Regiment 1er REP (disbanded in 1961), Hélie assumed full responsibility for commanding exclusively his regiment towards the Generals' Putsch in April 1961 and would be charged for such action while also distancing accusations that would compromise the integrity of the men acting under his direct orders of command. Hélie de Talleyrand-Périgord (1301 – 17 January 1364) was a French Cardinal (Catholic Church), cardinal, from one of the most aristocratic families in Périgord, south-west France. Hélie was born at Périgueux, third son of Elias VII, Count of Périgord, and Brunissende of Foix, daughter of Roger-Bernard III, Count of Foix, Roger Bernard III, comte de Foix. Faustin Hélie
Faustin Hélie (31 May 1799 – 22 October 1884) was a French jurist and a leading reformer of criminal law. Born in Nantes and an official in the French Ministry of Justice since 1823, after the Revolution of 1848 Hélie became a judge with the Court of Cassation in 1849. In 1872, he became the president of its criminal chamber, and was briefly Vice President of the State Council. Hélie was influential in reforming the codes and practice of criminal law in France, and, guided by a humanitarian impetus, sought to protect the weak against injustices arising from criminal proceedings. Although some of his proposals appeared too advanced for their time, they all found adherents. In 1849 Hélie was member of a legislative commission reforming the judicial constitution, and in 1878 he headed a commission to reform the criminal code and procedure. Hélie de Bourdeilles (ca. 1423, at the castle of Bourdeilles, Périgord – 5 July 1484, at Artannes near Tours) was a French Franciscan, Archbishop of Tours and Cardinal. Life He was the son of the viscount Arnaud de Bourdeilles. Having entered the Franciscan Order at an early age, he was only twenty-four when, at the request of Charles VII of France, he was appointed to the See of Périgueux (1447). During the wars between France and England he was held prisoner for several years by the English, in consequence of his defence of ecclesiastical immunity. In 1468 he was appointed to the Archiepiscopal See of Tours, and in 1483 he was raised to the cardinalate by Pope Sixtus IV. Hélias de Saint-Yrieix (died 1367) was a French Benedictine abbot, papal judiciary official, bishop and Cardinal. Life Hélias was born at Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, south of Limoges (Poitou).
