Héctor Javier Martínez Maldonado (born September 1, 1968) is a former Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican politician, lawyer, attorney and former senator of Puerto Rico. He served as senator of the Puerto Rico Senatorial district VIII, District of Carolina from 2004 until 2011. Lornna Soto
Lornna J. Soto Villanueva (born May 27, 1970) is a Puerto Rican politician affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP). She is the current mayor of Canóvanas, succeeding her father, José "Chemo" Soto in 2014. Before being mayor, Soto was elected Senator for the district of Carolina in the 2004 general election along with Senator Héctor Martínez Maldonado. She served as Senator until 2013. José "Coquito" López Rosario (1976 – July 28, 2006 ) was a Puerto Rican drug dealer and kingpin as well as a mafia boss. General elections were held in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, to elect the officials of the government that would serve for the next four years, most notably the Governor of Puerto Rico. The gubernatorial election was won by incumbent Resident Commissioner Luis Fortuño of the New Progressive Party (PNP), who defeated incumbent governor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) by 53% to 41%. Most other positions were won by PNP candidates, with Pedro Pierluisi winning the election for Resident Commissioner, and the party winning a majority of seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Freddy Valentín
Freddy Valentín Acevedo was a Senator from 1993 to 1996 and head of the National Republican Party of Puerto Rico, as well as a member of the conservative New Progressive Party which advocates statehood for Puerto Rico. Biography Freddy Valentín Acevedo was elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico at the 1992 general elections. During that term, he presided the Commission of Nominations of the Senate. Héctor Martínez Maldonado worked as his aide in the Senate during that time. Martínez would later testify having received cash and checks from contractors on behalf of Valentín.
