Håvard Solås Taugbøl
Håvard Solås Taugbøl (born 20 August 1993) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. He competed in four events at the 2011 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, then three events at both the 2012 and 2013 Junior World Championships, winning a bronze and a silver medal in the relay. He made his World Cup debut in December 2013 in the Davos sprint, also collecting his first World Cup points with 21st place. In his next World Cup outing, in March 2014, he finished 11th in the Lahti sprint. In 2014–15 he improved to a 7th place in December 2014 in Davos and 4th place in March 2015 in Lahti, both in sprints. He represents the sports club Lillehammer SK. The men's 30 kilometre skiathlon competition in cross-country skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 6 February, at the Kuyangshu Nordic Center and Biathlon Center in Zhangjiakou. The event, with half distance classic skiing and half distance skate skiing, was won by Alexander Bolshunov, for whom this is the first Olympic gold medal. Denis Spitsov finished second and Iivo Niskanen third. Summary The 2018 champion is Simen Hegstad Krüger who qualified for the Olympics but tested positive for COVID-19 just before the games. FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2023
The 43rd FIS Nordic World Ski Championships were held from 21 February to 5 March 2023 in Planica, Slovenia. Championships Slovenia hosted the Nordic World Championships for the first time. All competitions took place at the Planica Nordic Centre, located in the Planica monument valley. Host selection The World Championships were awarded at the 51st Fédération Internationale de Ski, FIS Congress, held between 13 and 19 May 2018 in Costa Navarino, Greece. Planica's bids to host the championships had been unsuccessful on three previous occasions. The detailed application had to be submitted by 1 September 2017.
