Hà Nội Highway or Hanoi Highway (Vietnamese language, Vietnamese: ''Xa lộ Hà Nội''), also known as National Route 52 (Vietnamese language, Vietnamese: ''Quốc lộ 52''), formerly called Biên Hòa Highway (Vietnamese language, Vietnamese: ''Xa lộ Biên Hòa''), is the road linking Ho Chi Minh City and Biên Hòa City, Biên Hòa. History The Hanoi Highway, formerly known as Biên Hòa Highway (or Saigon–Biên Hòa Highway) was constructed between July 1957 and April 1961, started at Phan Thanh Giản Bridge (now is Điện Biên Phủ Bridge) between District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, District 1 and Bình Thạnh district, Bình Thạnh (before 1975 was Thạnh Mỹ Tây commune, Gò Vấp District, Province of Gia Định), crosses Nhieu Loc–Thi Nghe Channel and end at Chợ Sặt T-intersection. The Saigon Hi-Tech Park (Vietnamese language, Vietnamese: ''Khu Công nghệ cao Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh''; abbr.: SHTP) is a park for high technology enterprises located 15 km from downtown Ho Chi Minh City, opposite to Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Duc University Village, along the Hà Nội Highway and on the Line 1, Ho Chi Minh City Metro, Line 1 of the HCMC Metro with the High Tech Park station. The Đồng Nai River ( ) is a river in Vietnam that originates in the Central Highlands region of the southern portion of the country. Ngô Đình Diệm ( , or ; ; 3 January 1901 – 2 November 1963) was a South Vietnamese politician who was the final prime minister of the State of Vietnam (1954–1955) and later the first president of South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) from 1955 until his capture and assassination during the CIA-backed 1963 coup d'état. Diệm was born into a prominent Catholic family with his father, Ngô Đình Khả, being a high-ranking mandarin for Emperor Thành Thái during the French colonial era. Diệm was educated at French-speaking schools and considered following his brother Ngô Đình Thục into the priesthood, but eventually chose to pursue a career in the civil service.
