Huế (formerly Thừa Thiên Huế province) is the southernmost coastal city in the North Central Coast region, the Central of Vietnam, approximately in the center of the country. It borders Quảng Trị to the north, Quảng Nam and Đà Nẵng to the south, Salavan of Laos to the west and the South China Sea to the east. Central Vietnam ( or ), also known as Middle Vietnam or The Middle, formerly known as by the State of Vietnam, by the Republic of Vietnam, or '' Annam'' under French colonial rule, is one of the three geographical regions within Vietnam. The Bru (also Bruu, or Bru-Vân Kiều; ; Lao: wikt:บรู, ບຣູ ; Thai: wikt:บรู, บรู; which literally means "people living in the woods") are an indigenous peoples, indigenous ethnic group living in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and India. Katu People
The Katuic people (also Co Tu, Ca Tang; ; Katu language, Katu: ) are an ethnic group of about 102,551 who live in eastern Laos and central Vietnam. Numbered among the Katuic peoples, they speak a Mon-Khmer languages, Mon-Khmer language. Katuic languages have been developed by Paul Sidwell, but Sidwell's work is not commonly used in Katuic communities due to language barriers.
