Hustler (magazine)
''Hustler'' is an American pornographic magazine published monthly by Larry Flynt Publications (LFP). Introduced in 1974, it was a step forward from the '' Hustler Newsletter'', originally conceived by founder Larry Flynt as cheap advertising for his strip club businesses at the time. The magazine grew from an uncertain start to a peak circulation of around 3 million in the early 1980s; it has since dropped to approximately 500,000. ''Hustler'' was among the first major American-based magazines to feature graphic photos of female genitalia and simulated sex acts, in contrast with relatively modest publications such as '' Playboy''. In the 1990s, ''Hustler'', like several of its competitors, began featuring depictions of sexual penetration and oral sex. Today, ''Hustler'' is still considered more explicit (and more self-consciously lowbrow) than such well-known competitors as ''Playboy'' and '' Penthouse''. The Hustler Club is a series of bars and chain of go-go clubs licensed by '' Hustler'' magazine publisher Larry Flynt. Early history Flynt was discharged from the Navy in 1964 where he had served as a radar operator. After this stint in the Navy he worked in manufacturing jobs including one at a General Motors factory in Dayton, Ohio. Scratch And Sniff
Scratch and sniff technology is the application of a fragrant coating to items such as stickers or paperboard, so that when the coating is scratched it releases an odor that is normally related to the image displayed under the coating. The technology has been used on a variety of surfaces from stickers to compact discs. Gale W. Matson accidentally invented the technology while working for 3M in the 1960s. He was attempting to create a new method for making carbonless copy paper using microencapsulation. The technology to infuse microcapsules and paper was submitted to the US patent office on November 18, 1969, and the patent was granted on June 23, 1970. Keeton V
The Keeton was a brass era automobile built in Detroit, Michigan from 1912 to 1914 by the Keeton Motor Car Company. History Designed by Forrest M. Keeton when he was associated with the Croxton-Keeton Motor Car Company, the Keeton was called a "French type" and had a bonnet like the contemporary Renault. Good sales resulted in the purchase of a larger factory in 1913, but under-capitalization caused Keeton to lose control of his company to new investors. A Keeton driven by Bob Burman participated in the 1913 Indianapolis 500 but caught fire and retired on the 55th lap. In early 1914 Keeton was absorbed by American Voiturette. The last 100 Keeton's were sold by a receiver when that company failed in September 1914. In 1915, Forrest Keeton bought back the factory for a repair business.
