Hugo Díaz Rodríguez (born 9 February 1997), known as Hugo Díaz (), is a Spanish professional footballer who plays a centre back for Gimnástica Segoviana. He can also play as a defensive midfielder. Club career Early career Díaz started his career at Deportivo La Coruña youth academy, graduating to Depor Juvenil A and then the Deportivo de La Coruña B team, in January 2017 he then had a loan spell at A Coruña based team Silva SD. Leeds United On 18 August 2017, he joined Leeds United from Deportivo, initially linking up with the Leeds Under 23s squad. In the Under 23s he formed a central defence partnership with Paudie O'Connor. On 10 April 2018, after an injury crisis to Leeds' first team defenders, Díaz was promoted to Leeds' first team and named as a substitute in their EFL Championship game against Preston North End. Víctor Hugo Díaz (August 10, 1927 in Santiago del Estero, Argentina - October 23, 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) was a Tango music, tango, folklore and jazz harmonicist. Biography Early life Díaz was born to a poor family in the small city of Santiago del Estero. At the age of five he lost his sight when hit by a soccer ball, which led him to play the harmonica. Two years later, after surgery restored his eyesight, he was already performing regularly for a local radio. Musical career In spite of a highly successful career, he remained loyal to his youth's companions, such as the Abalos brothers and percussionist Domingo Cura with whom Díaz recorded on many occasions. His debut in Buenos Aires resulted in a series of record contracts with Odeon Records, TK Records, Jockey and later RCA Records.
