Hugh Dennis
Peter Hugh Dennis (born 13 February 1962) is an English comedian, presenter, actor, Impressionist (entertainment), impressionist and writer. He was a panellist in every episode of the comedy show ''Mock the Week'' (2005–2022) and is one half of the double act Punt and Dennis alongside Steve Punt. Dennis has also played Dr Piers Crispin in the sitcom ''My Hero (British TV series), My Hero'' (2000–2006), Pete Brockman in the sitcom ''Outnumbered (British TV series), Outnumbered'' (2007–2014, 2016, 2024), Toby in the sitcom ''Not Going Out'' (2014–2023), and the Bank Manager in the first season of the comedy-drama series ''Fleabag'' (2016). He presents the community archaeology television show ''The Great British Dig'' (2020–present). Mock The Week
''Mock the Week'' is a topical satirical celebrity panel show, created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson. It was produced by Angst Productions for BBC Two, and was broadcast from 5 June 2005 to 4 November 2022. Presenter Dara Ó Briain and panellist Hugh Dennis appeared in every episode, with a variety of other stand-up comedians being regular, frequent, occasional or one-off guest panellists during the show's history. The format of the programme saw six comedians divided into two teams and performing on a faux game show, in which the quiz aspect of answering questions relating to major and regional news items, all taken from the week before each episode's filming, is sidelined to focus on satirical, topical discussions on news items, stand-up routines, and the use of improvisational comedy. Royal Geographical Society
The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers), often shortened to RGS, is a learned society and professional body for geography based in the United Kingdom. Steve Punt
Steve Punt (born ) is a British comedy writer, comedian and actor. Along with Hugh Dennis, he is part of the double act Punt and Dennis and was presenter of BBC Radio 4 satirical news programme '' The Now Show''. He is also a writer and programme associate for various television panel game shows, including '' Would I Lie to You?'' and ''Mock the Week'', and is a writer for fellow comedians such as Rory Bremner and Jasper Carrott. Early life Punt wanted to be an author as a child, but knew he would never make a living out of it, so turned to comedy. Punt was educated at Whitgift School and St Catharine's College, Cambridge, where he read English. ''Who Do You Think You Are?'' is a British genealogy documentary series that has aired on the BBC since 2004, in which celebrity participants trace their family history. It is made by the production company Wall to Wall. The programme has regularly attracted an audience of more than 6 million viewers. The John Keble Church is a Church of England parish church in Mill Hill, London Borough of Barnet. The church was completed in 1936 and is of a modernist design. Mill Hill
Mill Hill is a suburb in the London Borough of Barnet, England. It is situated around northwest of Charing Cross, close to the Hertfordshire border. It was in the Historic counties of England, historic county of Middlesex until 1965, when it became part of Greater London. Its population was 18,451 in 2011. The Great British Dig
The Great British Dig: History in Your Back Garden is a factual television programme about community archaeology, that airs on More 4 and Channel 4, produced by Strawberry Blond TV. Presented by comedian and actor Hugh Dennis along with three archaeological experts, each episode sees the team arrive in a local community somewhere in Britain, and knock on people's doors to ask if they can dig in their gardens and shared spaces. Community archaeology is archaeology by the people for the people. The field is also known as public archaeology.
