Huaiyang, Zhoukou
Huaiyang District () is a district in the prefecture-level city of Zhoukou in the east of Henan province, People's Republic of China. It is located in the southeastern part of Henan Province and the central part of Zhoukou City. The district is situated in a warm temperate monsoon climate zone with abundant rainfall and distinct four seasons. It covers a total area of approximately 1334.56 square kilometers. Huaiyang District has a rich historical and cultural heritage. In ancient times, it was known as Wanqiu, Chen, and even Chen State. During the Qin Dynasty, it was assigned to Chen Commandery. As time passed, in the early Western Han Dynasty, due to its location north of the Huai River, Chen Commandery was reorganized into Huaiyang Commandery, which was soon upgraded to the status of Huaiyang State. Ma Clique
The Ma clique or Ma family warlords is a collective name for a group of Hui (Muslim Chinese) warlords in Northwestern China who ruled the Chinese provinces of Qinghai, Gansu and Ningxia for 10 years from 1919 until 1928. Following the collapse of the Qing dynasty in 1912, the region came under Chinese Muslim warlord Ma Qi's control until the Northern Expedition by the Republic of China consolidated central control in 1928. There were three families in the Ma clique ("Ma" being a common Hui rendering of the common Muslim name "Muhammad"), each of them respectively controlled, parts of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai. The three most prominent members of the clique were Ma Bufang, Ma Hongkui, and Ma Hongbin, collectively known as the Xibei San Ma (, ''Three Ma of the Northwest''). Zhuji () is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Shaoxing, in north-central Zhejiang province, China, located about south of Hangzhou. It has with a population of 1,218,072 inhabitants at the 2020 census even though the built-up (''or metro'') area is much smaller. History The region around Zhuji has been settled since Neolithic times and was the origin of the Wuyue culture. During the Spring and Autumn period, it was the birthplace of the legendary beauty Xi Shi. The ''People's Daily'' ( zh, s=人民日报, p=Rénmín Rìbào) is the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It provides direct information on the policies and viewpoints of the CCP in multiple languages. It is the largest newspaper in the China, People's Republic of China (PRC). History The paper was established on 15 June 1948 and was published in Pingshan County, Hebei. It was formed from the merger of the ''Jin-Cha-Ji Daily'' and the newspapers of the Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu base area. On 15 March 1949, its office was moved to Beijing, and the original People's Daily Beijing edition was renamed ''Beijing Liberation Daily''.
