Ferdi Tayfur (; born Ferdi Tayfur Turanbayburt; 15 November 1945 – 2 January 2025) was a Turkish singer, actor, director, songwriter and screenwriter. He was born in the Taşçı neighbourhood of Adana and led a successful career in Arabesque music. The artist, who earned nine golden certifications in total, was renowned for his songs, which he included in motion pictures as well. In the Turkish media, he was commonly known as "Ferdi Baba". Having released more than 30 albums and over 30 films, he founded Ferdifon Records in 1982 and also entered the construction sector in 2009. Life and career Tayfur was born in Adana and his father Cumali Bey named him after his favorite voice actor Ferdi Tayfur. Yüreğir () is a district-municipality of the Adana Province. It is the second most populated district of the province with a population of over 400 thousand, mostly concentrated on the east side of the Seyhan river, within the city of Adana. Many of the provincial institutions are located in Yüreğir, including the Provincial and Regional Courts of Justice, Health Directorate, Social Security Directorate and Agriculture Directorate. Cura (instrument)
The cura () is a plucked string folk instrument from Turkey. It is the smallest and highest pitched member of the bağlama family of instruments. It is found in nearly every region of the country with varying exact dimensions, tunings, playing techniques, and names including ''dede sazı,'' ''parmak cura,'' ''üç telli cura,'' ''bağlama curası,'' and ''tanbura curası.'' The two other members of the bağlama family are the larger Balkan tambura, tambura and the largest divan sazı, which are one and two octaves lower than the cura, respectively. The instrument has three main parts, the bowl (''tekne''), the sound board (''göğüs''), and the neck (''sap''). Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque
Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque is a mosque complex in the Levent neighborhood of Istanbul, Türkiye. Architect Sinan's Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul formed the insipiration for the design of the mosque. Maritime and shipping motifs were used in the project in honor of Hayreddin Barbarossa and his irregular sailors — ''Levends'' — which gave the area its name. The mosque complex is composed of an underground parking lot (for about 1000 cars), a workshop, a library, a multipurpose hall, and a dining hall, and can hold up to 20,000 worshippers. The Atatürk Cultural Center (), commonly called the AKM, is a concert hall, theatre and cultural centre running along the eastern side of Taksim Square in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Originally opened on April 12, 1969, it was closed for renovation works in 2008, but was ultimately demolished in 2018 and rebuilt in 2021 as a state-of-the-art cultural complex. Gülhane Park (, "Rosehouse Park") is a historical urban park in the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey; it covers an area of 9.7 ha, is adjacent to and on the grounds of the Topkapı Palace.
