Hostětín
Hostětín is a municipality and village in Uherské Hradiště District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 200 inhabitants. Geography Hostětín is located about southeast of Zlín and northwest of Trenčín. It lies on the border between the Vizovice Highlands and White Carpathians. The highest point is at above sea level. The entire municipality lies within the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area. The Kolelač Stream originates here and flows across the municipal territory. History The first written mention of Hostětín is from 1412. In 1516, Hostětín was referred to as an abandoned village, but in 1576 it was repopulated. Staré Město (; in 1950–1996 Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště) is a town in Uherské Hradiště District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 6,600 inhabitants. Etymology The name means literally 'old town' in Czech. Geography Staré Město is located about southwest of Zlín and creates a conurbation with Uherské Hradiště. Andrew H. Schapiro (born April 25, 1963) is an American attorney and diplomat who served as United States Ambassador to the Czech Republic from September 30, 2014, to January 20, 2017. He was nominated by President Barack Obama March 6, 2014 and confirmed by the Senate in July 2014.
