Hospital-Herbertstown is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and football club in County Limerick, Ireland, and is based in the South Division. Hospital-Herbertstown competed in the County Senior Hurling Championship in 2011 following the club's victory in the 2010 County Intermediate Hurling Championship. The club competes in the Limerick Intermediate Football Championship also. The Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Coiste Chontae Luimneach) or Limerick GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Limerick. The county board is also responsible for the Limerick county teams. The county hurling team are the current All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship (SHC) title holders, and have the fourth highest total of titles, behind Kilkenny, Cork and Tipperary. Damien Reale
Damien Reale (born 17 May 1981) is an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-back for the Limerick senior team. Reale made his first appearance for the team during the 2001 National League and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. A three-time All-Ireland medalist in the under-21 grade, he enjoyed little success as a member of the county senior team. Reale ended up an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Reale is a county intermediate championship medalist with Hospital-Herbertstown. Playing career Club Reale plays is club hurling with Hospital-Herbertstown and has enjoyed much success in a lengthy career. In 2000 he was just out of the minor grade when he won a county intermediate hurling championship medal. Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association for the third tier hurling teams in the county of Limerick in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at the Gaelic Grounds in October. The championship includes a group stage which is followed by a knock-out phase for the top teams. There is also promotion involving the Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root.
