Holland–Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency
The Holland–Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) located in the central, western and northern areas of Singapore. The GRC consists of four divisions: Cashew, Bukit Timah, Ulu Pandan and Zhenghua managed by Holland Bukit Panjang Town Council. The current MPs are Sim Ann, Vivian Balakrishnan, Christopher de Souza and Edward Chia from the People's Action Party (PAP). History Originally known as the Holland–Bukit Panjang Group Representation Constituency, it was renamed to its present name in 2006 due to the Bukit Panjang ward of the GRC being carved out to form a Single Member Constituency, in return the Bukit Timah Single Member Constituency was absorbed. Junction 10
Junction 10, formerly Ten Mile Junction, is a shopping centre in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore located at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Road and Woodlands Road. Background The mall opened in 1998 as Ten Mile Junction (). It is owned by Far East Organization. It was accessible via the then-operational Ten Mile Junction LRT station, on the Bukit Panjang LRT line, which has been permanently closed since 13 January 2019. The platform was located on level 3 of the complex, which also houses the Ten Mile Junction Depot adjacent to the station. 2015 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on Friday, 11 September 2015 to elect 89 members of Parliament. The outgoing Parliament had been dissolved and the general election called by President Tony Tan on 25 August, on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The elections were for the 13th Parliament since independence in 1965, using the first-past-the-post electoral system. 2011 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on 7 May 2011. President S. R. Nathan dissolved parliament on 19 April 2011 on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Voting is mandatory in Singapore and is based on the first-past-the-post system. Elections are conducted by the Elections Department, which is under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Office. Nomination day was held on 27 April 2011, and for the second election in a row, the PAP did not return to government on nomination day, but it did return to government on polling day. Liang Eng Hwa
Liang Eng Hwa ( zh, s=连荣华, p=Lián Rónghuá; born 20 March 1964) is a Singaporean politician and banker. A member of the People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament representing Bukit Panjang Single Member Constituency (SMC) and the Chairman of Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council since 2020 and previously the Zhenghua division of Holland–Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency (GRC) between 2006 and 2020. Yu-Foo Yee Shoon
Yu-Foo Yee Shoon (; born 17 February 1950) is a Singaporean former politician. A member of the country's governing People's Action Party (PAP), she served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1984 to 2011. Her political appointments included Mayor of South West District of Singapore and Minister of State at the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports. Political career Yu-Foo was first elected to Parliament in the 1984 general election. General elections were held in Singapore on 6 May 2006. President S.R. Nathan dissolved parliament on 20 April 2006 on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong three weeks before the election. The Bukit Panjang Single Member Constituency is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) located in the western area of Singapore. It is managed by Holland–Bukit Panjang Town Council. The current Member of Parliament for the constituency is Liang Eng Hwa from the People's Action Party (PAP). Electoral history Bukit Panjang Constituency was created in 1955. In 1988, the constituency was renamed Bukit Panjang Single Member Constituency following the establishment of Group Representation Constituencies (GRC). Bukit Timah Railway Station
Bukit Timah railway station is a former railway station and crossing loop in Bukit Timah, in the westernmost part of the Central Region of Singapore. Opened on the dismantled Tank Road mainline in 1903, it was rebuilt on the current Singapore–Johor Bahru KTM Intercity mainline in 1932, until the Jurong line shut down and it became a crossing loop station in the late 1940s until closure. The station was a freight interchange for the now defunct Jurong line from 1965 to the early 1990s. The station closed in 2011, and it is now a conserved recreational building and museum that is part of the Rail Corridor. Rifle Range Nature Park is a nature park in Bukit Timah, Singapore. Rifle Range Nature Park was opened on 12 November 2022 and is located along Rifle Range Road and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Rifle Range Nature Park is also Singapore's first net positive energy nature park. Rifle Range Nature Park is the eighth park in the Central Nature Park Network.
