Prashant Nanda
Prashanta Nanda (born 2 May 1947) is an Indian director, actor and politician from the state of Odisha. He is currently a Member of Parliament at Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, for Odisha. He had worked predominantly in Odia film industry but also worked in Bengali film industry and Hindi film industry extensively. He was also a former minister in Odisha state. Early life Prashanta Nanda was born in Cuttack, Odisha on 2 May 1947 to Kanchan and Jagannath Nanda. He did his schooling from Ravenshaw Collegiate School. His B.Sc. from Ravenshaw College, M.A. and Ph.D from Utkal University, LL.B. from Madhusudan Law College, and have D.Litt. from MIT University, Pune. Sriram Panda (, born c. 1954) is an Indian actor, director and a screenplay writer of Ollywood, ollywood industry .hailing from the Nabarangpur district, Nabarangpur district, Odisha, India. He was widely known for his natural acting, gentle dialogue delivery and his discipline. Also he formally known for his dashing look considering him as a replica of the first Indian superstar Rajesh Khanna among the Ollywood, Ollywood industry. Mahasweta Ray is an Indian actress and television personality who is known for her work in Odia films and soap operas. Her numerous accolades include record 8 Odisha State Film Awards. Biography She was born to Indian writer Rajkishore Ray. She has a sister named Malavika Ray. Aparajita Mohanty is her cousin sister. Jharana Das
Jharana Das (, 1945 – 2 December 2022) was an Indian Ollywood actress and journalist. She was known for her contributions to the Odia film industry. Life and career Jharana Das started her career in the 1960s as a child artist and announcer for All India Radio, Cuttack where she produced creative content across drama, song and film. She later also worked as an assistant station director of Doordarshan in Cuttack. ''Times Now'' stated that Das "chose a career in the movies at a time when not many chose to walk the path" and reported that she had to deal with family opposition to follow her calling. Prafulla Kar (16 February 1939 – 17 April 2022) was an Odia musician, singer, lyricist, writer and columnist. He was also famous for his Odissi Music recital. He received Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India in 2015 for his contribution in the field of arts. The Odia (), formerly spelled Oriya, are an Indo-Aryan peoples, Indo-Aryan ethno-linguistic group native to the Indian state of Odisha who speak the Odia language.
