Hikiä Railway Station
The Hikiä railway station (, ) is located in Hausjärvi, Finland, in the village and urban area of Hikiä. It is located along the Riihimäki–Lahti line, and its neighboring stations are Riihimäki railway station, Riihimäki in the west and Oitti railway station, Oitti in the east. History Hikiä is one of the original intermediate stations of the Riihimäki–Saint Petersburg railway, and was opened for passenger traffic in November 1869. It was placed on the crossing between the railway and the road between Nurmijärvi and the church of Hausjärvi. The railway played a significant role in the development of Hikiä, helping it overtake the Hausjärvi church village in population. In 1960 Hikiä had 700 inhabitants, compared to 200 of the Hausjärvi church village. Hikiä's population in 2018 was 1,068. Hikiä became an unstaffed station in 1976 and its freight traffic was abolished in 1991. In 2005, its platforms were rebuilt and moved approximately to the east towards ...

Lappila Railway Station
The Lappila railway station (, ) is located in Kärkölä, Finland, in the village and urban area of Lappila. It is located along the Riihimäki–Lahti line, and its neighboring stations are Mommila in the west and Järvelä in the east. History When work on the Riihimäki–Saint Petersburg railway began in 1868, Lappila was one of the headquarters for workers along with Riihimäki. The nearby village of Tillola became site for the third field hospital founded for the railway workforce, after those in Oitti and Lahti. Industry began to settle in Lappila after the arrival of the railway; facilities founded include two sawmills (1897, 1908) as well as brick factories and a furniture workshop. A water tower is an elevated structure supporting a water tank constructed at a height sufficient to pressurize a water distribution system, distribution system for potable water, and to provide emergency storage for fire protection. Water towers often operate in conjunction with underground or surface service reservoirs, which store treated water close to where it will be used. Bruno Granholm
Bruno Ferdinand Granholm (May 14, 1857 in Myrskylä – September 29, 1930) was a Finnish architect. He served as the chief architect of Rautatiehallitus (The Railroad Board) between 1892 and 1926. Many of the station buildings he designed are still in use today, having aged surprisingly well.
