Hejazi Arabic or Hijazi Arabic (HA) (, Hejazi Arabic: , ), also known as West Arabian Arabic, is a Varieties of Arabic, variety of Arabic spoken in the Hejaz region in Saudi Arabia. Strictly speaking, there are two main groups of dialects spoken in the Hejaz region, one by the urban population, originally spoken mainly in the cities of Jeddah, Mecca, Medina and partially in Ta'if and another dialect by the urbanized rural and bedouin populations. However, the term most often applies to the urban variety which is discussed in this article. In antiquity, the Hejaz was home to the Old Higazi, Old Hejazi dialect of Arabic recorded in the consonantal text of the Qur'an. Nasser Hejazi (Persian: ناصر حجازی, ''nāser hejāzi''; 14 December 1949 – 23 May 2011), nicknamed "the legendary Iranian goalkeeper", was an Iranian football player and coach who most notably played for Esteghlal (Taj). Considered as the best goalkeeper in the history of Iranian football and Asia, he was capped 62 times for the Iran national football team. In 2000, the Asian Football Confederation ranked him the second best Asian goalkeeper of the 20th century. Mohammad Hossein-Zadeh Hejazi (, 20 January 1956 – 18 April 2021) was an Iranian military commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Abdol Hossein Hejazi
Abdol Hossein Hejazi (1904–1969) was an Iranian military officer who served as the commander of the Imperial Iranian Army's Ground Forces between 1958 and 1960. Biography Hejazi was born in 1904. He graduated from École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr in France. He was a major general. Following the proclamation of the martial law on 20 March 1951 after the approval of the nationalization of oil by the Senate he was appointed military governor. Hejazi was also made the chief of police on the same date replacing General Mohammad Faftari who had resigned from the post. He served as the head of the military college until August 1952 when he was removed from the post. Sharif Hussain (Urdu: ), who used the pseudonym Nasīm Hijāzī (Urdu: , commonly transliterated as Naseem Hijazi or Nasim Hijazi) (19 May 1914 – 2 March 1996), was an Urdu novelist. Life and career Hussain was born in an Arain family in the village of Sujaanpur, near the town of Dhariwal, in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab, in pre-partition India. He migrated to Pakistan after partition in 1947. He chose Islamic history as the inspiration for his novels.
