Highlands Park Football Club are a South African professional association football, soccer club who played in Modderfontein (East Rand), Modderfontein, Johannesburg. They were founded in 2003 as a phoenix club (sports), phoenix club to the earlier Highlands Park F.C. (1959) and Highlands Park F.C. (1990) The club started out in the fourth tier of the South African Football league, known as SAFA Regional League, and got promoted in 2007 to compete in the third tier, known as Vodacom League. (1959), original Highlands Park were founded in 1959 and had been champions of the National Football League (South Africa), National Football League on eight occasions. Linksfield
Linksfield is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a suburb lying north-east of the Johannesburg CBD and is surrounded southerly by Linksfield Ridge, easterly by Linksfield North and Bedford, St Andrews and Senderwood. Linksfield itself is located in Region E of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. Gemmel Park
In medieval and early Renaissance English polyphonic music, gymel (also gimel or gemell) is the technique of temporarily dividing up one voice part, usually an upper one, into two parts of equal range, but singing different music. 2024–25 SAFA Second Division
The 2024–25 SAFA Second Division (known as the ABC Motsepe League for sponsorship reasons) will be the 27th season of the SAFA Second Division, the third tier for South African association football clubs, since its establishment in 1998. Due to the size of South Africa, the competition was split into nine divisions, one for each region. After the league stage of the regional competition is completed, the nine winning teams of each regional division will enter the playoffs. The total number of football clubs in 2024-25 ABC Motsepe League season is 183. The competition is administered by the South African Football Association. 2013–14 SAFA Second Division
The 2013–14 SAFA Second Division (known as the ABC Motsepe League for sponsorship reasons) was the 16th season of the SAFA Second Division, the third tier league for South African association football clubs, since its establishment in 1998. Due to the size of South Africa, the competition is split into nine divisions, one for each region. After the league stage of the regional competition was completed, the nine teams are placed into two 'streams', sometimes referred to as the Inland and Coastal streams. It was won by Cape Town All Stars, who beat Highlands Park on penalties in the playoff final. Both teams were promoted to the 2014-15 National First Division. The South African Championship, officially known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest league of South African football after the South African Premiership. Both the South African Championship and South African Premiership are organised by the Premier Soccer League. The South African Premiership, also known as the Betway Premiership for sponsorship reasons, and commonly referred to as the PSL after its governing body, is a professional soccer league in South Africa and the highest level of the South African soccer league system.
