Hamilton County is a county in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,107, making it the least populous county of New York, and the only county with fewer than 10,000 residents. With a land area nearly the size of Delaware, it is the least densely populated county east of the Mississippi River. Its county seat is Lake Pleasant. Arietta is a town in Hamilton County, New York, United States. The population was 292 at the 2020 census. The town was named after the mother of one of the first settlers, Rensselaer Van Rennslaer.
