Hiem
Hiem are an electronic dance duo from Sheffield, England, consisting of Nick "Nico" Eastwood and David "Bozz" Boswell. Career Hiem's music mixes dance, electronica, and pop. When the duo plays live, the full band includes Andrew Stenton on drums and Joe Milnes on guitar and keyboards. They have remixed for The Lovers, Pink Grease, and Norwegian duo Ost & Kjex, amongst others. Hiem have a sizeable following both from the underground dance music scene and also from the more mainstream indie kids. They have recorded live sessions for Xfm and for Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 1. White Label Music is an independent record label based in the UK. The label is run by Marc Hunter and Ann Shenton, who was formerly a member of the band Add N to (X). Background Artists include The Asbo Kid (James Atkin of the band EMF), Hiem, Kontour and Large Number (ex Add N to (X)). The label is known for its "Electronic Bible" series of compilation albums including artists such as Jarvis Cocker and Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. White Label Music specialises in experimental electronic music and has many artists with varied styles. The label also works alongside the Soyuz major record label based in Russia. All Seeing I
The All Seeing I are a British electronic music group from Sheffield, England, comprising Dean Honer, Jason Buckle and DJ Parrot (real name Richard Barratt). Biography The band released their first single "I Walk" in 1997, but it was not until the year after that they gained mainstream commercial success with the song "The Beat Goes On (Sonny & Cher song), Beat Goes On", a remixed cover version, cover of the Sonny Bono song, using the vocals from Buddy Rich's version, which were sung by his daughter Cathy. Their works were something of a Sheffield collective, and the trio worked with artists from the city including Tony Christie, Jarvis Cocker, Philip Oakey, Babybird and many others. Their regular live vocalist was Bozz, who later went on to form electronica duo Hiem. Venini
Venini were a British artrock band, featuring members of Pulp and Ladytron, who were active between the years 1998 and 2001. History Guitarist and violinist Russell Senior left Pulp in 1997 and began writing and demoing songs with vocalist/lyricist Debbie Lime (real name Debbie Russell-Williams) in the Spring of 1998 Through what Senior described as "bizarre coincidences" they were able to recruit Daniel Hunt on keyboards, Nick Eastwood on bass, and Rob Barton on drums over the following months. Charlie Collins of Clock DVA was also a part-time member on woodwind. The group took their name from a Venetian glass manufacturer. Philip Oakey
Philip Oakey (born 2 October 1955) is an English singer-songwriter who is the frontman and co-founder of the synth-pop band the Human League. Aside from the Human League, he has enjoyed an extensive solo music career and has collaborated with numerous other artists and producers. Oakey was among the most visually distinctive music artists of the early 1980s. Rodney Hylton Smith, better known by his stage name Roots Manuva (born 9 September 1972), is a British rapper and producer. Since his debut in 1994, he has produced numerous albums and singles on the label Big Dada, achieving commercial success with albums ''Run Come Save Me'' and '' Slime & Reason''. From November 2001 to November 2018, the London nightclub fabric ran a monthly mix compilation series. Mixed by a variety of emerging and established DJs, the two series were entitled ''fabric'' and ''FABRICLIVE'' respectively. The compilation mixes were released independently by fabric on an alternating monthly basis.
