Hideo Levy
is an United States, American-born Japanese language author. Levy was born in California and educated in Taiwan, the US, and Japan. He is one of the first Americans to write modern literature in Japanese, and his work has won the Noma Literary Prize, Noma Literary New Face Prize and the Yomiuri Prize, among other literary prizes. Biography Levy was born in Berkeley, California, on 29 November 1950 to a Polish-American mother and a Jewish father. His father named him after a friend who was imprisoned in an internment camp during World War II. Levy's father was a diplomat, and the family moved around between Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and the United States. He graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in East Asian studies, and later received his doctorate from the same school for studying the poet Kakinomoto no Hitomaro. Ian Levy
Ian Levy (born 14 February 1966) is a British Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party politician who served as Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP) for Blyth Valley (UK Parliament constituency), Blyth Valley from the 2019 United Kingdom general election, 2019 general election until the seat's abolition in 2024. He was the only Conservative to represent Blyth Valley since the constituency was created in 1950. He served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) in the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence from 2022 until the general election, in which he failed to win the new seat of Cramlington and Killingworth. Susumu Nakanishi
is a scholar of Japanese literature, particularly of the ''Man'yōshū''. He earned his Doctor of Literature degree from the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) in 1962. He is widely believed to have conceived the name of the current era of the official calendar of Japan, ''Reiwa'' (令和, 2019-). However, it is a custom not to reveal the conceiver of the name of an era, and he has said, 'Era names are not for secular individuals like Susumu Nakanishi to decide, but are determined by divine inspiration. There is no such person as the inventor of the name "Reiwa"'.
