Heves
Heves is a small town in eastern Hungary. About 100 km east of Budapest, Heves lies at the northern extreme of the Great Hungarian Plain, just south of the Mátra and Bükk hills and west of the Tisza River. Heves gave its name to Heves County, however it is not its seat and it is the fourth largest town in the county. The closest major city is Eger, which lies 40 km to the north. Heves is a significant transportation hub for the towns and agricultural areas of southern Heves County. Demographics Heves is home to approximately 11,000 residents. In addition to the ethnic Hungarian majority, there is a sizable Roma population. Economy The major sources of employment in Heves are agricultural and service-sector occupations. Alan Hevesi
Alan George Hevesi (January 31, 1940 – November 9, 2023) was a convicted felon and American politician who served as a New York State Assemblyman from 1971 to 1993, as New York City Comptroller from 1994 to 2001, and as New York State Comptroller from 2003 to 2006. Hevesi resigned as Comptroller effective December 22, 2006, as part of a plea bargain with the Albany County Court related to his unlawful use of state employees to care for his ailing wife. In February 2007, Hevesi was sentenced to a $5,000 fine and permanently banned from holding elective office. Four years later, Hevesi pleaded guilty to corruption charges surrounding a "pay to play" scheme regarding the New York State Pension Fund. On April 15, 2011, he was sentenced to one to four years in prison. Hevesi (born November 19, 1973) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly representing the 28th Assembly District, which includes Forest Hills, Rego Park, Richmond Hill, Glendale, Kew Gardens, Ridgewood, and Middle Village. Daniel Hevesi is a former American politician. Daniel Hevesi was born to Alan and Carol Hevesi. He has a sister, Laura, and a brother, Andrew. Daniel Hevesi contested the 1998 New York Senate elections, and won election from the 13th district. He faced Conservative Party candidate Walter Lamp in the 2000 election cycle.
