Hermann-Löns-Medaille
The Hermann-Löns-Medaille, awarded since 1974 in the categories platinum, gold, silver and bronze, is a prize of the magazine ''Das Neue Blatt'' from the Bauer Media Group, awarded for special merits in the field of popular music. The prize is named after the poet Hermann Löns. It recognises merits in the promotion and cultivation of folk song, folk music, German folk song as well as folk entertainment and is awarded in particular to singers, composers and presenters as well as to orchestras, choirs, vocal groups and instrumental soloists. The award was presented at a festive award ceremony under the title ''Heimat-Melodie''. The patrons included the Minister Presidents of the Federal States of Schleswig-Holstein and Bavaria, the Governing Mayor of Berlin and the Federal Minister of the Interior. Günter Wewel
Günter Wewel (; 29 November 19349 May 2023) was a German operatic bass and television presenter. Based at the Opernhaus Dortmund for decades, he performed 80 roles in Germany and Europe. He is known for presenting the television series , with more than 150 episodes from 1989 to 2007, which portrays regions in Europe, their landscape, people and folklore, the first such show filmed at the locations. Early life Wewel was born in Arnsberg. After school, he first trained as a civil servant with the Deutsche Bundesbahn. He then studied voice, especially opera, at the Dortmund Conservatory. He studied further with Rudolf Watzke in Dortmund and Johannes Kobeck in Vienna. Career Wewel was a member of the Oper Dortmund from 1963, with Generalmusikdirektor Wilhelm Schüchter, and remained at the house throughout his career of more than 30 years. Heidi Kabel
Heidi Bertha Auguste Kabel (; 27 August 1914 – 15 June 2010) was a German actress and musician. Most of her stage roles were performed at the Ohnsorg-Theater in Hamburg, many of them in Low German. She became famous in Germany as many of the productions of the Ohnsorg Theater were transmitted on German television. Heidi Kabel was born in Hamburg; the city and its landmarks inspired many of her best-known songs (''In Hamburg sagt man Tschüss'', ''Jungfernstiegmarsch''). She was married to stage director and actor Hans Mahler, who died in 1970. Their daughter, Heidi Mahler, is also an actress. She died in Hamburg on 15 June 2010 at the age of 95 and was honoured with a funeral service at St. Michael's Church ten days later. Gerhard Höllerich (25 January 1943 – 9 October 1991), known professionally as Roy Black, was a German schlager singer and actor, who appeared in several musical comedies and starred in the 1989 TV series, . Biography Born in Bobingen, Bavarian Swabia, Germany, Black attended the Holbein Gymnasium in Augsburg and, aged 20, founded the rock and roll band Roy Black and His Cannons. His stage name derived from his black hair and his idol, Roy Orbison. Roy Black and His Cannons achieved some local fame and were offered a recording contract with Polydor Records. Patrick Lindner (born 27 September 1960) is a German Volksmusik singer. Life Born as Friedrich Günther Raab in Munich, West Germany, Lindner worked as a chef before his breakthrough in 1989 when he was second in the Grand Prix der Volksmusik.
