Henry Township, Fulton County, Indiana
Henry Township is one of eight townships in Fulton County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,048 and it contained 1,224 housing units. History When Fulton County was organized in January 1836, Henry Township was a part of Rochester Township, and remained this way until 1838. However, no one settled in the township until February 1836, when four men settled there with their families. Henry Township is named after Henry Hoover, who was, at the time of naming, the oldest resident of the township. The Prill School and Utter-Gerig Round Barn are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Athens, Indiana
Athens () is an unincorporated community hamlet in Henry Township, Fulton County, Indiana, originally called Hoover Station. A post office established as Grant, on December 20, 1875, was moved to Hoover Station in 1883; Hoover Station was a waystation for the Chicago and Atlantic Railway, where Jacob Hoover was the postmaster and kept a general store with his brother. Jacob was the son of Henry and Sarah (Curtis)Hoover, the first white settlers of this area. The name was changed to Athens on May 28, 1896, for Athens, Greece.Baker, Ronald L. Indiana State Road 114
State Road 114 (SR 114) is an east–west state road, that consists of three discontinuous sections, in the northern part of the US state of Indiana. The western portion of SR 114 is just under long and is routed between U.S. Highway 41 (US 41) and US 421. The central segment runs through rural Fulton County; it is approximately long and connects SR 17 at the west end with SR 25 at the east end. The eastern portion of SR 114 is just over long and is routed between SR 14 and US 24. SR 114 mostly passes rural agriculture land, but passes through a few towns and small cities. The SR 114 designation was first used in the early 1930s along the route between SR 14 and SR 5, a route that later became SR 113. State Road 19 (SR 19) is a route on the Indiana State Highway System that runs between Noblesville and Elkhart in the US state of Indiana. The of Indiana SR 19 serve as a minor highway. Some of the highway is listed on the National Highway System. Various sections are urban four-lane highway and rural two-lane highway.
