Henry Tichborne, 1st Baron Ferrard
Henry Tichborne, 1st Baron Ferrard (1663 – 3 November 1731), known as Sir Henry Tichborne, Bt, between 1697 and 1715, was an Irish peer. Tichborne was the eldest son of Sir William Tichborne of Beaulieu House and Gardens, Co. Louth, Beaulieu, County Louth and his wife Judith Bysse, daughter of John Bysse, Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer and his wife Margaret King (née Edgeworth); his other grandfather being the statesman and general Sir Henry Tichborne, a younger son of the Tudor MP, Sir Benjamin Tichborne, 1st Baronet, of Tichborne (see Tichborne baronets). His paternal grandmother was Jane Newcomen, daughter of Sir Robert Newcomen. He represented Ardee (Parliament of Ireland constituency), Ardee and County Louth (Parliament of Ireland constituency), County Louth in the Irish House of Commons. Tichborne Aston (1 November 1716 – 4 March 1748) was an Irish politician. He was the son of William Aston, MP for Dunleer, and his wife Hon. Salisbury Tichborne, daughter of Henry Tichborne, 1st Baron Ferrard and Arabella Cotton; The Astons, a junior branch of the family of Lord Aston of Forfar, came originally from Staffordshire. Baron is a rank of nobility or title of honour, often hereditary, in various European countries, either current or historical. The female equivalent is baroness. There have been two baronetcies created for persons with the surname Tichborne, both in the Baronetage of England. Both creations are extinct. The Tichborne Baronetcy, of Tichborne in the County of Hampshire, was created in the Baronetage of England on 8 March 1621 for Sir Benjamin Tichborne, 1st Baronet, Sir Benjamin Tichborne, who was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Petersfield (UK Parliament constituency), Petersfield from 1588 to 1589 and for Hampshire (UK Parliament constituency), Hampshire in 1593. It became extinct at the death of the 14th baronet in 1968. Sir Richard Sutton, 1st Baronet MP (31 July 1733 – 10 January 1802), of Norwood Park in Nottinghamshire, was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1768 to 1796. Sir Robert Sutton (167113 August 1746) was an English diplomat and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1722 to 1741. Early life Sutton was the elder son of Robert Sutton of Averham, Nottinghamshire, and his wife, Katherine, the daughter of the Revd William Sherborne of Pembridge, Herefordshire. He was great-nephew of the 1st Baron Lexinton. He was admitted to Trinity College, Oxford in 1688 and went on to the Middle Temple in 1691. Diplomat Sutton was ordained a deacon and became chaplain to his cousin Robert Sutton, 2nd Baron Lexinton, English Envoy in Vienna in 1694. In 1697, he was appointed as secretary to the British legation there, and upon the departure of his cousin, became the English resident there. Lexinton then secured for him the nomination for English ambassador to the Ottoman Empire in Constantinople on 5 December 1700, and he arrived in Adrianople on 7 January 1702.
